King's Lynn Stars 2014

Recommended Posts

Porsing is the strange one. Normally he'd be nailed on with his average and end of season form but I can't help but think he'll miss out as Lambert is too good to pass up.

Under last seasons rules, he would have made the perfect reserve.

I hope not we watched him at Pardubice in the world U21 WC were he rode very well and again at Ostrow in Poland he was very impressive in both meetings - we can't leave him out on the average he's on it would be mad - if we go NKI Kenny B and Rory as top 3 add Lambert who else could we sign on the average he's on other than Porsing ?

Bjerre won't be here, he doesn't even know If he's riding in England yet, our team has been finalised.

Don't believe everything you read on Twitter. It was probably posted as a smoke screen. No doubt we'll all know, come next Thursday

Rosco said a while ago he wants Mads back, and I think if he stays another season with us then we have to buy him?. All in all, and it really pains me to say this, but I don't think Mads will be a Stars rider in 2014. I hope I'm wrong.

Iversen, Bjerre, Schlein as a top 3 would cheer me up though.

3 heat leaders, 2 'reserves', and 2 draft picks - is this the best structure for teams in 2014?

Mads has just announced on Twitter he won't be riding for the stars in 2014. Sez: He's really enjoyed his 3 yrs. here.

Based on the alleged heat format (generally, not Heat by Heat) it suggests to me that top heavy is the way to go. As long as one of your second strings is generally stronger than all reserves and your other second string is on par with most reserves then I think it works.

My only reservation is if your reserves are particularly weak, then you need to bump up the strength of your second strings (at the expense of your heat leaders) to compensate.

Of course the big unknown is the Heat Format. We know neither what the promoters have agreed at this point, nor do we know what they will eventually agree on. The cynic in me suggests this hasn't been decided yet (or more specifically ratified), and when the promoters return to discuss it in the New Year, it will be influenced by each promoters personal agenda (based on their line-up) rather than for the good of the sport (i.e. competitive close racing). But that's Speedways issue; and I don't think they will ever learn.

If NKI & KB are going to be in the team, It also means two GP riders , (will they miss any meetings)?????

Are you serious, this is Kenneth Bjerre you are talking about.

Oh really

More than likely. Having Niels missing on an odd occasion I think I could live with, but having 2 heatleaders missing would be a bit of a bummer.

Anyone thought of Hougaard? Unless he's already signed by someone and I've missed it. He was on a 6 point average like Mads the last time I looked...

Thanks to Mads for the past 3 seasons. It's been a pleasure watching you! Not overly surprised to hear of his departure though.

Unfortunately that has been evident every year, with every decision they've ever had to make.
