King's Lynn Stars 2014

Recommended Posts

My mistake, he has joined Berwick..

Berwick Bandits are delighted to confirm their fourth signing for next season.

He is 27-year old Claus Vissing, from Grinsted, Denmark.

Claus has been anxious to link with Berwick for some time, but as his contract was to an extent in limbo after the closure of parent club Peterborough, it was only late on Friday that full permission was given for him to link with the Bandits (on loan ) and his personal contracts were signed and registered. Berwick wish also to thank Rick Frost and Julie Mahoney (Peterborough) for assistance.

Claus spent 2013 with Edinburgh, and was impressive on visits to Shielfield, both with the Monarchs and in the season's opening Ben-Fund Bonanza, when he finished runner-up.

He joins us with an average of 6.89, and will add experience and enthusiasm to our side.

I find that a little random seeing as Berwick's official site has no mention of the Panthers promotion, in fact confirming terms were agreed with the BSPA.

It's from the BSPA website today, hardly random. Not sure what point you are trying to make here tbh, we all know the bspa are administrating the Boro assets at the moment..

No, he is a Kings Lynn asset.

I told him this about a week ago when he posted that we could have used Rory at Coventry. Another man who never takes any notice or listens to a woman. The World is full of them and that's the reason women have to do a lot of what men call 'nagging'.

I suppose it all stemmed from you calling alan jones statement incorrect.

The facts are clear. While Peterborough are not running a team the BSPA hold all the assets. At this point Peterborough have no say what so ever where riders go and how much loan fee's are paid as they're not seeing a penny. If they don't come to tapes at all in 2014 that will remain the case even if new owners are found.

So, in effect, right now just for 2014 Peterborough have no assets and that is what alan was saying in a very short sentence

Well I find that hard to believe that the frosts / peterborough are recieveing nothing from loaning there assets , that would be 16k in loan fees at least ( assuming clubs do eventually pay ) can't see the frosts wanting to line the pockets of the bspa

Always thought the rules were that funds coming from any assets are used to clear any outstanding debts and anything after that goes to the promotion to which they belong. Think this stands for three years, after then assets revert to full control of BSPA.

As the Peterborough promotion have stated the club was debt free, no reason to think that the loan fees from Iversen & Bjerre wouldn't go to the outgoing promotion.

Was there any news on the team sponsor at the supporters meeting ? Is roger warnes still sponsoring us or maybe ready power since we have 2 of his riders ;-)

On the PowerPoint presentation, Roger Warnes and Poultec company logos were on it, so I'd imagine both of those companies are continuing with their sponsorship, but no one actually talked about the sponsorship for next season.

Didn't buster thank roger warnes for his continuing support, or something like that em?I think he also said he ran some of the team building permutations by both warnes' as there was a quip about nicki(ipresume nicki p!)

Didn't hear that! Was obviously too busy looking at Niels at that point  That's if he'd made his grand entrance by then? I heard Anita say she wanted Nicki Pedersen back though.

That's certainly the case when a team packs up when owing money left right and centre but Peterborough did not. They owe nothing and, in all probability, they're owed money from last season (and, knowing how the sport is run, I reckon a penny or two from before that)so to suggest Mr Frost loses everything he's owed because he decided to not run can't be right. Ex promoters have held assets in the past and, whereas it's likely Mr Frost has no say where 'his' riders ride I'd think he gets something for the loan of 'his' assets at least - certainly the ones he paid out for.

So one assumes that if the club is up for sale then it could come with or without assets, with one option being much cheaper than the other?

Was certainly the case in a previous purchase. Mick Horton, I think, since he couldn't raise the money for the whole kit and caboodle, was given the option of which assets he wanted and opted for Zdenek Tesar and Shane Parker. The others were sold elsewhere by the previous owners.

A very clever & sensible move by Kings Lynn to sign Darryl Richings for the National Lge side as he'll be ready to stand in for both reserves if they can't ride for any reason.

That's a good point! I hadn't thought of that! I'm glad we've taken him on though as he looked impressive when he rode for IOW this season just gone.
