g13webb
There are too many unknowns and a lot is dependent on young Lambert. Is there a chance that he could be added to the 'draft shortlist' when he turns 16? If so, that massively changes the potential make up of any team lucky enough to sign him up! We've all discussed what any team WITH Lambert could look like, but have we considered what a 1-5 without him could be? I'm assuming these guys will be in the 1-5.... (at least I bl00dy hope they are!) Niels 9.12 Rory 6.84 Porsing 3.51 which could leave room for our asset Kevin Wolbert on 5.04 and then another 7.51 for the 3rd heat leader; Larsen 7.26? Sundstrom 7.22? But then that bags the question why did we not keep Mads? I'm of the impression Lambert is too good to go on the Draft list. and will achieve far greater success riding against the best riders not against reserve riders. There's no way Buster would let Lambert slip through his fingers when in a couple of years he be worth a fortune. Agree with what you say about Mads and think we have to accept we will get better than what we had last year. Hence KB
semion
Lambert is worth more than £40 a point, so cant see him on that list when he reaches 16.

Hence KB Robert Lambert has already stated that he declined being a draft rider and hopes for a top 5 place (hopefully at Lynn) in last week's Speedway Star

Lambert has already confirmed himself in a top 5 place somewhere. We are all just waiting to find out where!
pointsmeanplayoffs
Robert Lambert has already stated that he declined being a draft rider and hopes for a top 5 place (hopefully at Lynn) in last week's Speedway Star But he cannot be named in any team until April, any side he is to sign for will have name a 3 point riders in their 1-5 in their initial declaration who will step aside when Lambert becomes available. Anyway, the most important name on our 2014 teamsheet is Niels-Kristian Iversen.

I'd feel kinda bad for him if that is to be the case I know it's swings and roundabouts, but it'd be harsh on him, or anyone else for that matter, but if he's happy enough to do it and is prepared to do it, then I suppose that's his choice... proud panther
Will Lambert be any better than Kozza next year if they go down that route ? I think not, even though Lambert is probably a better long term prospect.

If it wouldn't be good if they had other offers. If they didn't, though, then it'd be a few extra meetings, plus a signing-on fee I'd assume, which is not to be sniffed at. Plus a few good meetings could make other sides notice.... Edited December 12, 2013 by MrMungo

I think not, even though Lambert is probably a better long term prospect. To start with maybe not, but lets see how he is performing come the end of the Year. Some people remember a certain other 16 year old who joined Kings Lynn in the mid 70s. I think he banged in an average of over 7 in that season. That was in a league which was without doubt the best league in the World at that time. Now I am not saying Lambert will be as a good as that, but I would bet money on him ending the season on a much higher average than 3. Woz01
I just hope people give Lambert time, he may struggle initially but as the season goes on I'm sure he will improve. Could be a massive plus come play off time.
semion
What a fantastic draw card Lambert will be for Buster. 16 years of age, British, not only British but a local lad from within the County ( no 6 finger jokes please, as we have heard them all, and they are sooooo zzzzzzzzzzz boring). To have the opportunity to watch this young lad progress is going to be a real treat. For those that have not seen him, he is a bit special. Lets just give him the time and the space to find his feet, then watch him go.
Hazza29
Lamberts to good for £40 a point I agree so understand why he wasn't on the draft list but also personally got to feel for Lewis Kerr. He would more than likely be at reserve in an elite side if this draft hadn't come in on £80-100 a point. He's Proberly on more at Newcastle than what he is at lynn! Going to be one of the best reserves in the league so has worked out for the stars
Bagpuss
That's assuming he's not gained any extra 'sponsorship' from the Lynn area for next year
orion
What a joke ..they bring in rule to help young brits then the best prospect starts in the top 5..unreal
SteveLyric2
With Lambert not able to be named in the 1-7 for the March declarations, wouldn't it be just as likely to wait until he finishes school in June/July - if for no other reason than to give Kozza (or whoever) a decent chance to earn some money?!! Daniel Smith
The crowd at the walks stadium is mahoosive and the old folk are getting a bit restless with the wait. It's really starting to kick off with tension. Walking sticks aee proper flying. OAP hooligans, these fuddies should get a grip. I'm scared
semion
Buster is the real deal in supporting young British riders, while all clubs are forced to run with 2 he takes it a step further and runs with 3. Yet all Orion can do is pull it to pieces. Unreal
orion
Of course I am pulling it to pieces ..we bring in a rule to help young brits but somehow the ,most likely rider to gain from it somehow ends up in the top five ..not having a go at Kings Lynn but yet again the sport looks stupid .
foreverblue
It is putting too much pressure on a 16 year old, he should do more time in the pl first, throwing him in the deep end like this may not be good for him in the long run.
