King's Lynn Stars 2014

Recommended Posts

Mads tweeted earlier today that he has signed for a UK club - to be announced later this week. Double bluff and it'll be the Stars after all....

I see Mads has joined the Leicester Lions from his twitter page. Good to see he's not going miss the British racing.

I appreciate all you say and can understand your feelings. That is the problem why most of the lost supporters stay away. I just turn a blind eye to all that now, and just go for my own personal pleasure. Seeing four riders racing side by side, going flat out still give me a buzz, even after all these years........... :icon_smile_clown:

Got to agree with you GRW. I am not condoning what goes on - allegedly behind closed doors at the BSPA but I think social media sites and forums like this one do no good at all. It provides a platform to dissect the sport and its rules in such a public way which is usually detrimental to the sport and turns supporters away. I have been following the sport as a supporter and sponsor for a long time and I used to be able to stand on the terraces and you would not have a clue as to what was going on in the background ans I think the sport was a better place for it.

Anyway, sorry to KL fans for taking it off-topic!!

Good to see Mads fixed. It would appear he didnt have to many opitions open to him the way teams were filling up. Its about time we had our own secret agent. Having read Mads would love to finish at Lynn, next season might be the perfect opportunity for him to work on his average for 2015.

Two words sum up Mads, and they are popular but inconsistent. Really glad to see him fixed up but I think the direction Lynn are rumoured to be going in with team building looks stronger. We'll certainly miss Mads' input to the team spirit and it's always nice to hear a rider speak highly of the club but I am excited about the announcement on Thursday.

What's the point in wishing someone a crap year when they don't earn what they want to? I want him to perform to his best or near his best and be injury free!

Obviously if someone underperforms in one season they might be seen as a good bet for the following season but it doesn't always work like that . . as we know!

Shame Mads couldn't be fitted in to the Stars 2014 line up, I'll be making a few trips across to Leicester to watch him no doubt.

Anything less than a top 3 of Niels, Kenny B and Rooboy will leave me a little disappointed come Thursday night!!!! Not heard many other riders linked with us and it's now apparent we're going to go with top-heavy line up.

Good to see Mads won't be missing out on racing over here. Hope Leicester look after him ;) I guess Bagpuss does have a valid point with regards to his inconsistency. I'm just curious to know who his replacement is. A lot of people, myself included, suspect it's Kenneth Bjerre, but I'm now not so certain and I'm expecting some kind of a shocker moment on Thursday. Has Kenni Larsen been announced elsewhere? Heard his name mentioned on the grapevine, but his average apparently is similar to that of Mads' so would we be gaining much if the replacement was him? I'm not so sure. To leave Mads out I would've thought the management would go for someone with a slightly higher average and then get 2 lower averaged riders to go into the top 5, meaning we should have 3 good heatleaders, which I think is what will really be needed in 2014, seeing as we have 2 NL riders at reserve that will stay there for the entire season and you can't always guarantee getting something out of those, as both will be on a steep learning curve.

It's no great secret that Mads had agreed terms with Lynn before the AGM, I wonder what happened at the AGM that changed things?

It's not difficult is it.

You get 'what it says on the tin' with Mads. Good team player, wears his heart on his sleeve, and 100% effort all of the time. His problem as others have identified is inconsistency. He was referred to by some at Swindon as Ted Rogers.....3,2,1....
