wandersome
you just knew this meeting was going to end up a cheap filler of a meeting the moment they moved the start time forward to save a few quid on electricity. I think you'll find the inter league element is Steve Worrall. Edited October 1, 2013 by volty
flagrag
This is a joke as others have said on Facebook Leicester should be charged under trades description act as this is not even a Belle Vue select. Correct me if I am wrong but are any of them actual Belle Vue assets ? With just one of the current team this should just be changed to a premier league select. The actual line up is quite good with riders who have all impressed at Leicester this season but to call the team BV us cheating non regular fans. I knew it would not be a full team when heard no KK or top guest but expected it to feature Cook,Wolbert,Dryml and then guests.
wandersome
Lets hope Craig Cook is ok after his crash yesterday in the play offs?. It could take speedway to new levels of farce if the only Belle Vue element to the Aces ends up as rider replacement? I don't think they could bring in a guest as i think they are already using all the ones available. At least the manager should be there! Leicester Lion
whats it got to do with leicester all they have done is invite belle vue over to race nobody from leicester has put the belle vue team together thats down to their manager.if the truth be known the leicester management are probably as disappointed as some of the fans at the team they are bringing.i will be going along to support our lads you never know it might just be a good meeting and it maybe the last time we ever see the likes of doolan, gravensen, karlsson etc strutting their stuff round bp. It has everything to do with Leicester - it's taking place at Leicester and it's promoted and advertised by the Leicester promotion. It's not about whether it will be a good meeting or not (who knows, there might even be a genuine pass or two). It's about the promotion advertising a fixture filler as an inter-league challenge against Belle Vue when it is neither of these things. It falsely raises people's expectations. It devalues speedway, it devalues the name of Belle Vue. Non-regulars will see the name Belle Vue and expect a standard that is not being provided. Once again the Leicester promotion shoots itself in the foot.
wandersome
Interestingly enough Leicester have just announced a meeting for the following week as well Leicester v 'Grand Prix superstars' which sees the Lions take on a star studded team of riders that have all graced the very highest stage - Unfortunately injuries to both Emil Sayfutdinov and Tomas Gollob see their places taken by local hopefuls Chris Widman and Lee Geary and they will be using rider replacement for local superstar David Howe but hopefully this will not detract from the spectacle in any way. The team will line up as below and for extra excitement will be jointly managed by both David and Yulia Hemsley so fireworks are expected. Admittedly getting a such a star studded line-up together isn't cheap so their will be a slight increase in entrance fee for the meeting at £25. But the extra cost of the meeting will put to bed the complaints from season ticket holders that they haven't had their moneys worth this season. 1.Nikolai Klindt 2.Jason Bunyan 3.David Howe R/R 4.Matej Kus 5.Jesper B Monberg 6.Chris Widman 7.Lee Geary
flagrag
I have no doubt it may be a good meeting on Sunday and may still go as will be visiting the family it's just calling it Belle Vue team that I don't agree with.Leicester did not have to accept the team that BV put forward and could have said no and cancelled the fixture. I would say they can not change the team name to Premier select/allstars as they have the return fixture in Manchester next week, where I fully expect that more of the BV team will ride as have to be here in UK for their match at Peterborough. I suspect you may get Wolbert and Ostergaard at Belle Vue but Dryml is riding in Czech league and I very much doubt Zagar & Zetterstrom will ride in it. justathought
How on earth can this be called a Belle Vue team??? Belle Vue: 1. Craig Cook, 2. Jozsef Tabaka, 3. Richard Lawson, 4. Thomas Jorgensen, 5. Rene Bach, 6. Ryan Douglas, 7. Steve Worrall They all pass through Manchester at some point on their way to meetings. And I understand that Jozef Tabaka is a season ticket holder at Stockport County FC.
jimmy jimmy
I haven't heard of half our team, what's the point, most of them won't ride for Belle Vue again. Should have used assets like R Worrall, Hougaard to make it a bit more interesting. Is Tabaka a speedway rider?

He's not boring. Races to the finish line

Paulco
Granted it's not even close to a Belle Vue side , but it's an end of season fixture and a meeting between two seven rider sides is infinitely better than an individual meeting .
justathought
I think it's stretching the imagination a bit to call them a Bell Vue team, and it's not really an inter league challenge . But, I must admit i think it looks rather a good meeting. The Bell Vue select team does look interesting. Not bad for an end of season meeting.
