King's Lynn V Mildenhall - 2nd October 2013

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow sees a feast of speedway on offer at the Norfolk Arena, as the 'Young Stars' set about the business of trying to claw back the 8-points they require from Mildenhall in their quest to reach the National League Play-Off Final.

The Suffolk club always put up a strong fight when they cross the border into Norfolk, and with ultimate glory growing ever closer, this meeting could be a lot closer than most think, and is certainly one not to miss.

KING'S LYNN: 1) Robert Lambert 2) R/R 3) Darren Mallett 4) Jake Knight 5) Lewis Kerr 6) Shane Waldron 7) Josh Bailey (G)

MILDENHALL: 1) Stefan Nielsen 2) R/R 3) Josh Bates 4) Aaron Baseby 5) Daniel Halsey 6) Ryan Terry-Daley (G) 7) TBC

Second-half action sees the 'Ligthtning' bring down the curtain in their inaugural season in the Midland Development League, and a fine season they've endured. Although they've failed to reach the Play-Off Final due to the cut-off date having passed, victory over Castleford will put Wayne Dunworth's charges on 16-points, the same as current league leaders Belle Vue, which will be a fine achievement indeed.

KING'S LYNN: 1) Andy Mountain 2) TBC 3) Adam Kirby 4) Josh Bailey

CASTLEFORD: 1) Jack Kingston 2) Adam Portwood 3) Conor Dwyer 4) Sam Woods

Gates open at the Norfolk Arena at 6:30pm. Admission prices: Adults: £10, Concessions: £8, Juniors (12-15 Years Old): £4, Kids under 11: £FREE

I think the 2 big guns of Young Stars will see them through, though there should be some outstanding races with Stefan Nielsen, the are some tremendous contests in prospect with the engine room of YS Mallett & Knight, lined up against Halsey & RR, but its down at reserve this may be won and lost, with a big night for Shane Waldron in prospect, he could well be Young stars hero <or villan> come the end of the meeting, good luck and stay safe.

Bates' fall and subsequent withdrawal effectively ended the tie as a contest but hats off to Mildenhall for having a bloody good go and never giving up.

A few decent heats but most races well strung out due to there being a wide range of ability on show.

Think we would have smashed Mildly out the park even without Josh's crash and boy what a crash it was. How the fooking hell did he manage to try and continue reading is beyond me. It was horrendous.

You're right about the racing being strung out but still enjoyed it. Will be different next week though.

Halsey's move on Kerr went beyond hard riding to just down right dangerous. Assuming the who-ha in the pits was off the back of that.

Yes, Halsey should have been disqualified for that move. Cannot believe Josh Bates walked away from that crash and boy was it spectacular !!! then to have a go at continuing.... oooooooh I bet he will have a few bruises tomorrow. get the arnica out !!

Couldnt agree more, dan halsey appears to have a nasty habit of turning right on opponents. There are hard riders and there are dirty riders, but that was reckless and dangerous, deliberate and un necessary

Easy words. Perhaps you would like to give a few examples. As he immediately apologised would suggest to me that he acknowledged a mistake and that it was a genuine racing incident.

It IS a dangerous sport - riding at top speed you are going to get drive, hit bumps etc, etc and accidents will happen if you take away riders racing hard you will take away the sport.

In my view you will struggle to find a more honest rider in the sport.

I have to say I didn't think it was as bad as people are making out. It was hard but not dirty IMO.

and I'm sure Kerr has done his fair share. Is any move dirty it's a fast testosterone adrenaline filled sport what do some people expect. You're damned if you don't give it a go and you're damned if you do
