Lakeside 2014

Financial reasons - Well that might explain why he's had quite few Ht15 rides when there were other riders who clearly were riding better and should have been selected.

On a very sad day for the sport with the Brummies gone, if Lakeside have been forced to make this change in order to survive, then I would say it is being run well.

I doubt the changes were as drastic to survive but if your paying out top dollar and not getting the points you think are required then changes need to be made regardless. As much as i enjoyed watching PK for the Hammers no one is entitled to a living and a rider can't live on past performances otherwise we could end up being a Birmingham.

Good Luck to PK in whatever he chooses to do from here on personally wish the Hammers had tried to get a serious number 1 instead of Kim but i suppose i could be proven wrong, time will tell.

Glad Bridger has been sacked, He tried to make mugs out of Rynbik.

Would be good to know your reasoning behind that statement? no argument here just always good to hear what goes on behind the scenes. Dont get me wrong if he has failed to fulfill obligations and let the team down due to stupidity and negelect then he gets what any normal person would get.

Decided to get drunk before a league match and then missed his flight.

Then posted on his twitter page a picture of himself eating a burger.

Theres a word for Bridger.

fair enough and that is exactly what i saw just didn't know if there was more to it and the final straw that had borken the camels back so to speak.

To make matters worse Lewis has now been sacked from his job in Poland because for whatever reason ( some say its was the booze with Batch after Cardiff ) and he missed his flight, Now he says he will see Lakesides fixtures out and call it a day.

I really don't understand Lewis . Every time he gets things running his way he does something to mess it up. He is such a talent and the last few meetings at Lakeside have shown just how good he can be : 11 wins or paid wins in his last 13 races and two last places, one due to a puncture and one due to getting out of shape in a rut. Briliiant form now its all messed up again.

It leaves Lakeside in a mess because If Lewis is going to pack it in at the end of the season motivation will be difficult, and riding in the EL alone is not enough to keep sharp. So frustrating because Lewis at his best is a very entertaining rider.

I was down the other week against Leicester and that's the best I have ever seen him ride.

I fear that the comments about him being his own worst enemy are absolutely spot on.

One bloke didn't turn up for a shift because he got pissed (many of us have probably been there, done that) - as opposed to someone not turning up because he's got 'hay fever'.

The difference between a geezer and a wimp I'd say.

Such a shame that he's made this mistake and then let the consequences affect him in that way. Hopefully a bit of time (and a good chat with Jon Cook) will change his mind - it could just be his frustration speaking at the moment.

If he did miss the flight because he was out drinking with Batch then it's even more disappointing because I thought this season he had matured a bit and was taking things more seriously. Hopefully he'll end up just looking back on this as a mistake and a lesson learned ... we all drop the ball sometimes!

Hasn't he 'dropped the ball' enough times though? Didn't he 'make a mistake' when he assaulted someone outside a nightclub in Eastbourne? Didn't he also 'make a mistake' when he went to headbut a Lakeside fan with his helmet on? Bridger will never progress any further because he doesn't have the sense to recognise his privillledged position and the effort others have contributed and invested in him.

He missed the flight because he lost his passport out on the beers after the speedway GP. He knows he has let himself down as well as his club in Poland and is now probably feeling sorry for himself. No doubt he can turn it around like he has done before.

Not the first time 'he's lost his passport' though, is it? The irony is, the last time he 'lost' it, he was in Poland and let his British club down.

I know what you mean. When this sort of thing happens I do find myself thinking "oh not again Lewis", but then I do also try to remind myself that despite the number of years that he's been riding in the EL he is still quite young. And plenty of other riders have made much bigger mistakes, some of them quite recent!

Lewis has seemed like he's been taking things more seriously this season until now - he just needs to keep his head screwed on and keep pushing on now.

I find the whole siuation quite ironic in a way you have Bridger a great talent who appears to take this for granted and wastes it and an icon of the sport PK wanting to wringe every last drop out of his career .On PK IMO he will return to Wolves for the last time next season to bring down the curtain on a great career ( I always understood his final British season would be as a wolf ) and he has decided to curtail riding here this year to be in the best possible shape .If he had retired from British s/way i am sure we would have known and the L/side fans would have been able to pay homage one last time to the "Legend" as he truely deserves it.
