bigcatdiary
Very strange decision to replace a heat leader with a weak second string, quite sure the real reasons will come out in due course.
SCB
What a weird decision. A man who in a bad season, in a season where heatleaders have tougher rides anyway PK is averaging 6.5. So they have dropped him for a 5 point rider which will also force free scoring second string Lewis Bridger back to heatleader. D'oh!! I'd still sign PK on his average. The problem is that when the August GSA's come out LBR is likely to be a heat-leader anyway, and unless PK could manage a big turn around I can't see him getting the sort of scores Lewis has been getting at No4. the last few weeks. its certainly a very sad decision. Whether its a weird one or an astute one only time will tell.

Daytripper
PK @ 4 would be good for 8 and 9 without breaking a sweat. But Lakeside already have riders who have been good for 8 or 9 points at No 4. What they need is someone who can go out and score 11or12at No 1 or No 5 , and in particular someone who can go out with Dave Watt in heats 13 and 15 and get a heat advantage. I can't see anyone making the play-off final who can't get at least a 3-3 in the big heats. It's really going to need Lewis or Bech to step up a gear now , which is not beyond the realms of possibility but it's by no means certain either. Unfortunate state of affairs because PK is incredibly popular but things couldn't carry on as they were for much longer.
Falcon Hammer
Must've been PK's choice, don't think management would of pushed him, especially as he was showing signs of improvement & seriously weakens us with Lewis taking the tough No.5 position, when he was doing the biz at No.4 Thanks for the entertainment PK & good luck in the future. Hope to see you back again in whatever capacity
Ghostwalker
Kim Nilsson have been doing pretty good for Swedish team Rospiggarna lately although it mostly have been from reserve position, he have managed to get some good scores. Pk's form hage dropped a little the last couple of weeks but I think he have had a bit too many meetings which might have had a negative effect on his back. He had a very poor meeting against Vetlanda last week but Vetlanda have a very very strong team. Their lineup is: 1. Tau 2. Sajfutdinov 3. Hampel 4. Thj 5. Kolodziej 6. Thorssell 7. Magnus Karlsson So its not surprising that he struggled against those. However PK rode very good last night when riding for Örnarna in Allsvenskan, only dropping 2 points from 5 rides. I think PK might feel that doing three leagues might be a little too much especially with all the back and forth between Sweden and England.
The Voice Of Reason
I have ultimate respect for PK and truly hope that he goes out in a blaze of glory - hopefully for Wolves, Suffice to say, that Kim Nilsson has strength in depth - particularly at away tracks - where our form has been mediocre to say the least. There is absolutely no way that our management would have released PK without mutual consent. However, PK has been an absolute shadow of his former self for many, many months. Realistically, as a promotion, how long can you kid yourself that your legend (for whatever reason) just simply cannot deliver? I welcome Kim back with open arms. And, at the same time, salute one of the most genuine, nicest guys to have EVER graced our sport, Edited July 12, 2014 by The Voice Of Reason

mdmc82
Think Kim will make Lakeside weaker away from home. His last away scores at Coventry were 1 &
E I Addio
Think Kim will make Lakeside weaker away from home. His last away scores at Coventry were 1 & 3 Kim was hopelessly erratic but although there were occasions when he flopped badly on away tracks, there were also times when he banged in some big away scores and was the architect of some away wins. This season PK scored 9 at Belle Vue and Wolves but most of his away scores have been5 or 6 which is not what you expect from your top heat-leader.. Looking at the speedway star averages for the season PK is the only Lakeside rider not in the top 25. There more I think about this it does seem like a massive gamble, that could succeed very well or could backfire badly. Time will tell. LagutaRacingFan
This is a horrendous decision, PK at his worst will score the same as Nilsson at his best.
Dornier
Am a bit suprised they dumped PK. I would have had him in my team years ago when he first became a `loose` rider. he`s a rider with many attrbutes and a big assett to any team he`ll be a big loss in my opinion. hyderd
PK is a truly nice guy and great speedway rider, however PK is also a massive weight to carry when he is under performing. Ask any Belle Vue fan.

It was mutually agreed with PK that he left - and I would imagine this was more his decision than our management. Kim Nilsson is clearly just his immediate replacement; given he was dropped last year, I wouldn't imagine for one moment that it was a case of dropping Karlsson for Nilsson. Now, if you really want to see an example of a rider being 'dumped', I'll give you two words.........Ryan Fisher.
FAST GATER
After the shock of PK leaving L/side I have to say that I am not surprised IMO PK has struggled all season with flashes of his former self,I was at the match with Wolves last week and was convinced more than ever that PK needed a move .He has not been the rider he was and may never be again but he looked totally out of sorts.I think that the decision to leave is the right one for a rider at this stage in his career and it will hopefully extend it for a while longer ,if I am honest he is on borrowed time (long may it continue ) but L/side is not the place to be wanting .I do believe that PK (like Hancock is the exception to the rule) still has a lot to offer EL speedway in this country and a change of team would be the best thing to confirm whether he is past his sell by date. No rider would want to put themselves out of work.
mtommo
spoke to neil vatcher at Cardiff on Saturday and he said he was gutted that they had to release pk but it was for financial reasons , don't know the ins and outs of his contract but maybe pk is on a guarantee of some sort and with him not scoring as he has in the past that could be the reason for him being released and possibly kim nillson i would think is a cheaper option . just hope that is not the last we see of pk in the uk would love to see him back at wolves
