Al Stewart
Amazing that Rebel-fans still can't get it. They don't have seniority. Edinburgh stage their leg next Friday. Rebels get to choose out of the other 13 days in October. This is absolutely correct. When Somerset chose to race on Fridays they accepted then that existing Friday tracks had seniority and need not give up their race day. You might feel sympathy that they have had to do it three times already, but they accepted it. If it's correct that the team higher up the league table gets to pick first or second leg, that's fine, it just means Somerset can stage their leg either before or after the 25th. There are some Playoff rules in the rulebook, none of them contradict or even touch on the above.

Lord Antebellum
from my understanding the team that finishes top of the league (pre play offs ) have the right to decide.... so for all the rebels fans i would really love the 2nd leg to be at our place for a change......i wait to be corrected Of course Rebels can have the second leg at the OTA. I hope they do, and I hope they win -- I'll be there to cheer for them. But it won't be on Friday 25th. That's the date Edinburgh (once again, the senior club) have chosen. We already know they do in league matches...is this fact??
luluthetiger
but does the senior club get priority in the play offs? We already know they do in league matches...is this fact?? Of course they do. It is a race-night seniority agreed when each new member joins one of the leagues, nothing to do with the type of meeting being staged. Anyway, wasn't last season's final also between two Friday clubs, and the senior club (er, Somerset) had, and took, the Friday night? Don't recall the Rebels' fans doing much moaning back then........

And if they don't get the second leg somebody's needs sacking and Somerset need to hold a stewards, simple as that. Congratulations to the rebels on reaching the final.. Lord Antebellum
And if it is a rain-off on the 25th?.[Hope it's not ]. Probably Saturday (although I have no inside knowledge) as Edinburgh have run Saturdays before, and it will save a great deal of money.
