SteveLyric2
THINK Russell Lanning works for the Daily Mail compiling a lot of their sports stats... Phil Lanning is on the Sun in Glasgow Russell Lanning does the regular speedway column in the Saturday edition of the Sun and gets a regular name check!! Seems today's article is correct, too! Double Up
Why? Leicester only have one spot to fill. It's a far from satisfactory state of affairs. A situation that has arisen by virtue of a decision made by the BSPA MC which contradicts information given to a club during the course of last season. The ramifications of that decision affect one rider and two teams. All of them are the innocent victims of this. Somerset have taken steps to move on rather than engage in a protracted fight they might or might not win. The suggestion is that there might need to be some 'horse trading' between the clubs now interested in Nick's services especially considering there are Swindon assets involved in the Leicester team. That would seem very possible.
Crazy robin
As per usual the idiots who decide these things like tell Kurtz & Somerset his average & get it wrong are left in the shadows with no ramifications against them. What a mess this is.

Crazy robin
As per the club statement a big thumbs up for every single word in it & just goes to show what Nick put on Facebook a few weeks ago was obviously this matter contrary to what others kept denying. I can't see Swindon making only 1 change if Nick leaves because their isn't a rider out there to replace him.
DC2
Zengota or Skornicki could replace him.
Crazy robin
Zengota or Skornicki could replace him. No thanks on either of them. Hardly a clever move by Sheffield when they've already got a helping hand from Swindon with Simon Stead a Swindon assett.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
As I said before the Kurtz family and Somerset were acting on the information they were given. It wasn't them that moved the goalposts. If the custodians of the sport don't know their own rules how can anyone else? But why were they even asking the question when quite clearly riding in Denmark should make him a 7? I would take the 5 and keep quiet!! If you asked a policeman what the speed limit was on the motorway and he said 100mph would you expect the magistrate to let you off a ban using a defence of ' I asked the officer a question and he told me wrong'?
A ORLOV
As well as for the Rebels this action may also have repercussions for Nick Morris, Swindon and others. Ashley Birks if ok may be back at Scunthorpe, which makes it awkward for both him and Nick to du at Swindon if both are at that club. It is not known that Peterborough will be in the PL, if they do join, meeting clashes with Swindon could rule him out of Peterborough. This could leave Nick without a PL team, screw up Ashley riding in the EL, muck up Swindons team plans, the whole thing is a mess. Had a horrible feeling there was more behind Nicks comments than just a change in PL teams, now this has at last come to light. I just hope something can be sorted out as if Nick is not riding for Swindon this would a great blow to the team. proud panther
How ironic that Swindon fans are saying that if another club want to use Morris they should buy him. What like you bought Bitch last year lol.
Reliant Robin
How ironic that Swindon fans are saying that if another club want to use Morris they should buy him. What like you bought Bitch last year lol. I guess the difference being that Batch was never a part of Peterborough's plans, let alone actually announced as in the team and quoted as saying "I live in Swindon, I have a good workshop there, it's great to be back". This could come back to bite Sheffield on the bum in more ways than one. Let's see what course it takes.

What like you bought Bitch last year lol.Not guilty m,lord as I agree that if a parent club wants their assett & he chooses to ride elsewhere then they should have to buy him. Swindon always did that with riders before but the precedent was set by what Poole did with Miedzinski so they used that as a template as Poole were allowed him on loan. Yet again clowns make the wrong decision for the sport. Edited January 7, 2014 by Crazy robin

hagonshocker
Think we should allow the backstabber to go to Sheffield/Leicester and pull the Doyle deal with them to pieces...they can have Mads and we will have to reconfigue our side.....hopefully that will upset Somerset as we will have priority over JD and the Farmers daughter will go crying to daddy again

Not sure why " the farmers daughter" has anything to do with this. Ask Rosco who he blames!
orion
Kick Morris out of the club asap ..give him away for nowt .. All he has do was sit tight for a couple of weeks before a pl place come about .Just because he got a raw deal at the Rebels there was no need to do that the same to Swindon . To think that Rosco had treated as one of the family as well . The whole team was build around him on his low average and we will never find anyone good enough to take his place . a long season ahead now . Lioness
How is Nick Morris the back stabber? HE is the REAL victim in all of this and imo, however unpalatable to some, has done the right thing and looked after himself. I fully understand the feelings of Swindon fans who are also victims to a lesser extent but its Nick's livlihood, its a very short career and after a hard lesson on just how much a speedway contract means he has little option but to look after himself first. The alternative is to loose money and track time at a stage in his career that he should be increasing both. It still beggars belief that us so called internet commandos on BSF knew Kurtz was not entitled to a 3 point average but a promotion seemed to think he would get it on the nod. What we are seeing now is the fall out of when the little boys club known as the BSPA try to manipulate a published rule

As has been pointed out a Pl place will no doubt come up in or 3 weeks of the season so need to panic . He agree a deal with Swindon and the team was build around that so he should stick to it .
