Robins 2014

It would appear that Nick Morris has posted the following on Facebook: "Big news coming gonna be some upset speedway fans but have to do what's best for myself."

Wonder what that's about!

Had a feeling something like this would happen as soon as Somerset released him. I hope I am wrong in speculating but if the kid goes, that's going to leave a huge hole in the team and if as thought he was likely to put a point on his average next season, the hole is going to be mighty difficult to fill.

Think Morris could be heading for Poole & Sheffield. Rosco couldn't complain if that's the case after the way he has just treated Birks.

Actually, if Morris has signed a contract and has changed his mind - he shouldn't be allowed to ride in the EL this season for any other team - as contracts are legally binding! Birks hasn't been treated badly at all - it's a numbers game and he hasn't signed a contract as far as I'm aware.

Um why? Should a rider honour a contract when promoters can drop them at will? They are self employed contractors and as been proved in the past will ride where they want to ride.

I hope, for the promoters sake, that the contracts aren't legally binding or there'd be a few suits for loss of earnings from riders dropped mid season and unable to get fixed up elsewhere.

As I said if a rider reneges on a contract then the said rider should be prevented from riding elsewhere in the EL - if not, the floodgates will open! If it is Swindon that is impacted and Poole sign him then it is Adrian Miedsinski all over again - but worse!

A contract of employment precludes you from working for anyone else for a period of time.

I do hope that Morris doesn't turn his back on Swindon

I'm getting a very strong feeling that he will!
