Bagpuss
Little Henka is potentially an excellent signing, he had certainly gone stale at Eastie and a move will do him the world of good. Not sure what the options are for the last man but I'd be very, very wary of going for Klindt.
Reliant Robin
Little Henka is potentially an excellent signing, he had certainly gone stale at Eastie and a move will do him the world of good. Not sure what the options are for the last man but I'd be very, very wary of going for Klindt. He had a bad year last year, on the occasions that I saw him race he was a shadow of the rider that raced for the Robins in 2011 winning rider of the year (not stiff competition that year!) and average over 6.5 whilst riding at No.5. That said, he did appear to be getting his confidence back and putting in some good performances at EL level towards the end of last season. Certainly seems one of the better options about with what is left points wise.
Crazy robin
When you look at who the 2nd strings will be riding against then Nicolai wouldn't be a bad signing even with his downside in form. Always liked Dakota North & he's a Favourite of Rosco. Edited December 19, 2013 by Crazy robin
Hunters
I wonder if many Swindon fans realise how good the signing of Simon G is. I was sure he would be picked over Kim Nilsson on the same average but the Eagles Promotion had another view. Last year Simon came in approaching 6.5 and from the word go looked totally out of speed. This lasted for three months and he struggled to average even 4.during a period when Eagles ride most of their meetings. Then He came back after the July break and the old Simon soon returned getting back to double figure scores but too late to save his season average. What happened I don't know but he had a lot of machine failures. The ironic thing was that Timo Lahti was the mirror image of Simon both bad, good and timing so they must have had similar problems and somebody managed to sort them out. At 5.17 he is a terrific bargain for Swindon and could be the best second string in the league. No question in my mind that his signing is the one that guarantees Swindon a play off place providing the others do their job. I am dreading him coming back to Arlington as a visitor and giving us a hiding this coming season. As an after thought who is going to be astute enough to sign Lahti at 4.80? YerRopes
Get yourself a Season Ticket young Yerropes - £15 including programme - and that's based on just the League fixtures. Playoffs haven't been excluded this year so value for money could get better as the season goes on. Happy to see the signing of Gustafsson. Final signing is quite an important one - would be happy with Klindt or North personally That's a very fair deal RR - so well done Swindon for that ! Unfortunately it won't work for me as work commitments will inevitably mean I will miss a handful of meetings - perhaps they could introduce a 10/15 meeting season ticket. BTW....Welcome to Swindon Simon, the team is shaping up quite nicely (given the new circumstances)..
Chalkie
Pleased with this signing. Got to agree either North Dakota or Klindt Nicolai for the final place. Loved Klindt in 2011 but he has been pretty pants since. However, I can remember him at a fans forum expressing the veiled hope that Wolves overlooked him for 2012, so that Swindon was an option, as he loved it here. Having said that North Dakota was brilliant for us as a guest at Birmingham the year before last.

Steve Shovlar
Looks a team put together on a budget. Agree. Simon Gustafs0000n then? Saw him last year and has certainly gone downhill from the prospect he was a few years ago. In fact if the budgies didn't want him that about sums up their thoughts on his current ability Regardless of the last rider. Swindon look to be a mid table team IMO

Swindon look to be a mid table team IMO There lies the main problem with a draft system as the top 5 have to have riders who will have to raise their average. There is potential in the top 4 named so far but is it enough for a play off place?. I guess it remains to be seen but I think Simon was the best we could've got on that average & I would pre-fer a combination of him plus one than Zengota plus a 3 pointer. It certainly is a big season for Simon.

Swindon look to be a mid table team IMO I don't think any team is going to look remarkably strong once completed, so I don't hold any fears about the season in prospect. Kings Lynn looking best so far and that's mainly because of their strong top 3. Robert Lambert is a great talent, will be interesting to see how he fares. I think a top two of PK & Batch is as strong as most others. And I'd fancy Morris/Gustafsson & Klindt against others named in similar positions. BTW....Welcome to Swindon Simon, the team is shaping up quite nicely (given the new circumstances).. I sent an e-mail to Swindon a couple of years ago asking why they don't do a season ticket for a set amount of meetings rather than just all the meetings but never got a reply. If it was my business I would do it on a 6, 12 or full season ticket basis as I've never got one as we go away over the season & then it doesn't make sense. Speedway clubs have to try different things or at least canvass fans views.

Swindon look to be a mid table team IMO Right on cue - fishing season is open They may well be a mid table team but if Klindt is the last rider both he and Simon have an awful lot of potential of adding to their average so they could be trump cards - then again - they could bomb but I think they are more likely to be the former! Whether that's enough for play-off or not only time will tell. You thought last year that the initial Poole side looked good for the play-offs - how wrong you were until changes were made many times to your team and you scraped into the play-offs but won it with ease! I'm happy if you think Swindon is a mid-table team!

Steve Shovlar
PK and Batch are decent heat leaders. Morris is definitely going to be the best improver. I see Gustafsson as a Risager. The reserves are poor, but having said that so are most. Priority for 2014 is balance the books and stabilise the club. Anything else is a bonus. Hope the Blunsdon Massif come out to support their club And the thoughts of a few on here are not representative of the many. PK and Batch are decent heat leaders. van wolfswinkel
Excellent signing for the Robins. Scored 10plus1 last year, and 7plus 1 on his two 2011 visits to The Stade de Lite. Batch needs to realise his potential and finish in top 10 averages this year with Killer.
orion
Not Sure about this signing to be honest i guess we will have to wait for the last rider to sign and then make a judgement on is as a whole . Really hope the last signing is Klindt thou i expect it will be Birks who in the main body of the side would make us very weak
