Steve0
A good top 4, and today Ashley has been given the all clear and is hoping to get the all clear to ride in the 2014 season. He is looking to get into the 1 to 5 of a team and wants to return to Swindon. With all the speculation about NL and PL riders being allocated to the reserve positions I wonder if he may be one of them, which would give him time to get back to racing after his accident and if he was allocated to Swindon would be a bonus at 6 or 7. He has not mentioned that he may be one of the 20 reserves but he may not be allowed to say if he is. I would very much doubt he will be a reserve

Crazy robin
A tough one really as if Ash can get himself fit for the start of the season he will be in big demand as a reserve but it's a big ask for him to be in the main team. dump that clutch
thing is, if we start with Killer, Mads/Rory, Doyley & Morris then Ash does fit, we have seen what he is capable of but like many on here, will he be fit enough come March/April? Who else fits and is good enough.....maybe Bellego?
BritPete
Jesus! In very recent times glory Rory was public enemy number one to many Swindon fans, and if he doesn't sign for us, he probably will be again!
richard_a
Rory Is still a Public enemy to a lot of Swindon fans, Fans have long memories and to be honest Rory seems to be too inconsistent when he guessed for us last year wasn't the best
A ORLOV
He's not one of the reserves. The list is in the Adver today (see the Draft Riders thread). Have just seen the list so will Ash be fit enough for 1 - 5.

I suppose you could always get a BRITISH rider reduction for an AUSTRALIAN rider!!!!! Now that's a real rib tickler!!! Crazy robin
I suppose you could always get a BRITISH rider reduction for an AUSTRALIAN rider!!!!! Now that's a real rib tickler!!![/quotte] Find a post from me where I said that was right as well??? I said from the outset that this would be a stitch up & it's been proved correct. There is no way that Kyle Newman should be on the list & he will clean up at reserve. It wouldn't matter who he was an asset of either & the co-incidence of it bring Poole has no relevance. Now can someone explain to me just how he is in it??

The cut-off appears to be somewhere between Kerr @ 6.09 (makes it) & Howarth @ 6.86 (doesn't make it). Newman isn't even the top rider in the draft list. Kerr and Garrity have higher averages last season. Maybe others, too. Newman should definitely be one of the top reserves though for sure.

Because at 22 he's a young Brit with a 3.00 Elite average. He's come up from the conference league , then National League, then Premier League and wasn't afraid to give it a go in the Elite league.

As long as there are others of similar standard and experience then that's fine. Phew, I was in danger of becoming a conspiracy theorist for a moment there. Phew, I was in danger of becoming a conspiracy theorist for a moment there. Well, on the face of it, Garrity would appear to be the stand-out rider of the twenty-three. I think it's about right, Newman probably isn't as good as Garrity or Kerr, both of whom are ranked higher than him. Hopefully any disparity will even out with selection of the second reserves. superguest
Here it will pay off how many promoters know their NL riders! Will be great to see Ashley Morris ride for us and hope he is ready for the challenge! Hope CVS goes with Perry or Starke as they seem pretty entertaining. Bagpuss
Newman isn't the strongest rider on the list for me, he may be the most experienced but his progress has been gradual whereas Garrity & Kerr have come on to the scene much more dramatically. I wouldn't be surprised if the likes of Blackbird, Nielsen and one or two others catch him up during 2014. Seeing as somebody brought the subject of Aussies into the thread I should mention the rumour I've heard, that being that Mr Ford desperately tried to get Brady Kurtz on the list so he could pick him. Not that I think for one moment it could possibly be true seeing as Matty boy is the proverbial salt of the earth
