Poole V Birmingham 1st Leg Grand Final

Recommended Posts

My heart wants the Brummies to win (because they have never been in that position before) but my head says that Poole will be too strong over the 2 legs!

The Brummies have been a solid outfit this year but there are a few chinks showing in the Brummies side (Covatti and Smolinski are not free scoring like they did earlier in the season, Auty looks to be struggling and Barker injured). The Poole heat leaders will have the edge and, if Josh G, rides like he did against Swindon, I think it swings it in favour of Poole.

Good luck to both teams and let's hope it's as good as the Swindon/Poole semis. May the best team win!

Personally I think both matches will be tight and with harris going well is a big bonus for the brummies as he is terrific at poole usually. Poole were terrific last night but as I have repeatedly said birmingham have been the best team all season and will be very hard to beat. I feel it will be a cracker of a final.

undoubtedly it will be difficult to beat Ward & Hancock, but most of the Brummies are better than Poole's lower order, therefore see it being quite tight with 3-3's a plenty.

At Wimborne Road, if all rider's ride at their best the Brummies will struggle to keep with Jonasson and Janowski let alone Ward and Hancock. For the Brummies they need to keep their fingers crossed Dyer doesn't mysteriously disappeared for next week

Harris and doyle are terrific at poole, smolinski rode well in the gp challenge, king and barker ride it well, auty and covatti may struggle but overall a good team for wimborne road. Poole rode well last night and the key riders are josh and thj, especially if rohan is still unfit.

As a Brummie fan I am going to make sure that I do one thing. Enjoy the occasion no matter what the result. A final between two teams that have done things very different. A team full of GB riders that got team building right from day one Versus a team that have used their checkbook to make up for team building deficiencies (And it must be honestly said injury problems.)

A team of Heroes verses a team of Superstars.

A young club verses the establishment.

And, I note, A team that almost everyone is writing off. Much like they have for the whole season, and yet here we are in the final.

I don't think I can argue against Poole being the favourites for this one. But that is just how we like it. :)

Whatever happens in the final I have to say a big thank you to the management and the riders for a season to remember.

Now

BRING IT ON!

On that thing called a race track, that actually looked pretty dangerous last night, Poole will probably have enought to win the home leg, though Harris, Doyle and King and a fit Barker are more than capable of taking points off of Hancock and Ward. The problem Poole have is there tail is way to long away from home. The key is Jonasson and Janowski 2 total enigmas who could get 9 or 4. We know Josh, Tungate and Dyer are hardly going to get anything away so its up to the Brummies to keep it tight.

So who do we want to win?

The team that have had the same 1-7 all season and won matches fair and square.

Or the team that, due to an injury to Ward, were able to............

1. Strengthen by bringing in Pawlicki Jonasson and Josh for 2 awful Poles.

2. Make sure their riders had mysterious injuries on Mondays at tricky away matches like Eastbourne and Belle Vue so they could track a team of track specialists and gain away points.

3. Cancel a match against Lakeside just because they fancied it and stuff the rule book. Or apparantly it would have cost them money to do that ah bless. didnt stop them paying out big money for Hancock when it suited though!

4. Nothing more needs to be said about the Belle Vue match 'the heat ten stoppage' most disgraceful meeting witnessed not helped by the buffoon Middlo and that plank Ford and there double standards.

5. The luck Poole have had in the last few matches. No Karlsson for Lakeside. No Kildemand for Swindon. No Cook for Belle Vue and then injury to Hans didnt help Swindon.

Any controversy this season had involved Poole pretty much barring 1 or 2.

For the good of speedway and justice and advocating fair play come on the brummies!!

Oh and Shovlar Kildemand did cheat last night by staying down you are quite right. But i suggest you engage your brain before typing as Ward did exactly the same thing this season to get you a draw or a win but you were ok with that!! just shows what a complete......you really are

Poole only just managed to beat a team with 3 weak links last night , so I think Brummies will be a harder task , one thing for sure Brummies will, have almost all of British speedway supporters behind them .. go get em Bomber !!

But the Brummies beat a team who wee missing a 10 point rider and his replacements score 6 and 2. Tai would have been good for 20+ That 12 extra points for Wolves would have made it a lot closer. Are the Brumies that good? Covatti needs a better meeting thats for sure. Edited by SCB

No win situation for the sport this one.

One team that are there because of a dreadfully corrupt night at Belle Vue, and another that haven't paid a bill all year.

Interesting post that, I hope you know what your talking about or have a very good legal team to support your claims or maybe you have very deep pockets full of unwanted money, either way I wish you luck with your brave statement.
