Tom Turner
A not race fit Rohan and a not fit for racing Dyer leaves us vulnerable. Still can't see us losing. 16 point lead from the Pirates I reckon.
kitten2502
It wasnt me who said it was the german open, not a star studded event then which was my point, still well done to smolinski for winning it and he will go well at poole tonight, rode well at gp challenge so he should remember where the bumps are! Didn't mean to infer it was you that claimed it was the German Open
foreverblue
Gutted no Dyer tonight. Micky has the ability to pop out and score vital points andNewman will have more than his work cut out to replicate that. I hope Kyle gets some practice laps in this morning or afternoon otherwise it's going to be very hard for him to score a point or two. Glad to see Rohan return, though I hope he is 100% fit for the job. If her is there's no problem but if he comes into the meeting carrying some effects of his crash it won't help us. A nice sunny dry day down here today and no fear of the weather ruining what should be a cracking meeting. We need at least ten points to take to Brum and I am not sure we will get that. But whatever the outcome its a joyous occassion for Poole fans to be witnessing an Elite League Playoff Final for the 4th time on the bounce. Magificient. Really looking forward for tonight. Bring it on! Well at the haters cant say we did without a brit in the team! Kyle is a nice lad and I hope he has a good night, he is a poole asset and has done countless laps at the track so I cant see he will fail for lack of practice. Having Rohan back has its plus side and minus side, plus side is newman need only have 3 rides and josh can. do one of rohans if needed, big minus is thj doesnt get extra ride. salty
As I predicted last week either Dyer or Covatti (or both) would be missing for one (or both) of the matches. Still think Poole will do well tonight, another big night for Josh I suspect.
Tabashir
Results Speedway Olching 2 Michael Hartel (D) 12 +3, 3 Piotr Pawlicki (PL) 12 +2 Pardon my ignorance - what are the bonuses here if it's an individual meeting?
salty
Pardon my ignorance - what are the bonuses here if it's an individual meeting? Means there would have been a run-off for second place.

KevtheRev
As expected - Poole abusing the rules again. No Shame No Respect

What's wrong with Covatti? Don't be so defensive. Not saying there is anything underhand about Dyer missing tonight or last night. Just pointing out that I predicted it and it has come to pass. Don't think it will make much difference. I included Covatti in my prediction because his form has been a bit weak in the play-offs so far. John Leslie
I can only see the league champions' lack of heat leader strength being exposed tonight. I think Poole will build up a big enough lead tonight to make the second leg of the play-off trophy a formality. After tonight I don't think there will be any way back for the League Champions. I'd agree with that. Brummies will hope for Harris and Doyle, mainly, to try and get the odd win against the Poole heat leaders and then target Heats 2, 8 and 14. Poole will hope Josh can cover that threat. Edited October 7, 2013 by salty

You could be proved wrong, Brum have 4 strong heat leaders who are all capable of scoring well. I fully expect a close meeting tonight with the league champions sealing the play off final on home soil..
Tabashir
Run-off result. Thanks. Had me confused - not difficult to achieve at the best of times!
Steve Shovlar
I can only see the league champions' lack of heat leader strength being exposed tonight. Harris rides very well in the playoffs and likes Poole. He can beat anyone around here and is easily competition to our top end. Smolinski qualified for the GP series a month ago on this track. Both Doyle and King are very good around here. Too close to call. Plus Auty and Covatti are good reserves, certainly stronger than Swindon's. Josh will be tested all the way. Brian
Just cannot see Poole heat leaders dropping many points tonight, so it will be desperately important for Brum to make sure those heats with Darcy & Greg become 3-3 otherwise I fear next week may be out of reach. As a neutral I hope not, but somehow fear the worst.
pirateandi
Don't get you sometimes shovlar you always seem to big up the opposition riders ! Big our own riders ffs ward , THJ , Greg & magic will give smolinski , Doyle , king & Harris all sorts of problems tonight and as for Auty & covatti these two are hardly pilling up the points of late are they? You respect the opposition not brown nose them !!! COYP bring it home
Bagpuss
Funny how Bomber is a poor replacement when he guests for a Poole heatleader yet riding against them he is more than a match I reckon there is plenty of dizziness in Dorset with all that spin about
SteveLyric2
Skidder 1, I don't understand your reference to Perry Bar in post 268, don't you mean Poole? I think it might be 4 Brits in total - all Brummies - CH,BB,DK & JA You are half right with your first point - a slip of the finger!! Although I should have said at Poole, I also believe he won't be at Perry Barr either! Your second point is wrong though!!
