Somerset V Newcastle Play Off Friday 11th October 2013

Recommended Posts

Charles Wright is in one of Somerset's reserve berths. Does anyone know who the second reserve is?

Somerset

Jason Doyle

Kyle Newman

Nick Morris

Alex Davies

Josh Grajczonek

Charles Wright

AN Other

Newcastle

Richie Worrall

R/R Stuart Robson

Andrew Tully

Ludvig Lindgren

Anton Rosen

Chris Schramm

Lewis Kerr

I am a Newcastle supporter and I am hoping for a great result. The Diamonds riders are capable of scoring plenty of points, However, This Somerset side finished top of the table which makes them "League Champions" really, but now they have to win the title all over again by coming through the play offs and winning the final just as Newcastle had to do 12 months ago. But we failed in the play offs despite topping the league.

I would be happier if Stuart Robson was fit but unfortunately he is nowhere near fit for these matches. So its R/R at number 2 and due to the new green sheet averages Andrew Tully is no longer eligible to take one of the R/R rides so that weakens the Diamonds even more.

Whatever happens I hope it is a cracking match with the Diamonds entertaining as much as they usually do

And that is why I have been naysaying all those putting the Diamonds down as the top team. Been weak all season at the sharp end of away matches.

Great season overall but not enough firepower in the end. Got to remember that our #1 started last season as a 3 point reserve.

said this all season, it has cost us points in more than one away meeting..... Can't fathom it out at all

nor can the manager ;-)

That's OK then. :t:

No problem - just grasping at straws.  :nono::D

why ???,,, it would only give us one more meeting,,, not that we'd actually win anything of any importance, lol

The top team in the league Somerset are generally very good at the end of matches, so don`t be too harsh on your lads. It sounds like it was a real nail biter for a while, but Charles Wright is turning into a real good signing, he is scoring good points against everyone. Sunday should be a belter.

Wrong. Worrall started the season with a 5.64 average, Kerr started with a 3 average. Even steve worrall started on 3.93.
