Django
That atmosphere will stay with me for a long time, truly special. Loved it when Rene got off his bike at the end giving it the 'we are not worthy' Best wishes to Rohan, looked absolutely horrific

Fenway Bleachers
Lawson better than Cookie? Not sure how you work that one out. Last week at DP clearly omitted from your recall then.As Steve Whitehead said tonight Cookie has won 15 straight against the Comets in the last 7 days. Worky definitely hungrier team tonight and deserved the win and 3 points.I reckon that should get them through to the finals.
Lord Lucan
That developed into a very tidy match which just got a little too close for comfort, wish I could get my lotto No's with that degree of accuracy!! Outstanding performance from the team tonight, dodgy starts included, Rich Lawson was like the Rich Lawson of a few years back and really pushed the boat out, some great manoeuvres tonight!! To be fair tho, the whole team stood up to the plate, Ash should have got more than he did but like Millsy, same thing again, just seems wanting in the out and out power stakes, to my eye that's all that's missing cant fault the effort from both!! For Ipswich easily the standout was Richie Hawkins, rolled a few years back and looked fast most of the night, only failure being the last of 3 on the trot, cant do that on a big track like ours, killer!! Barker was good in patches as was Lanham with Heeps just getting going a bit too late at No2, Tungate was looking good til he t-boned the fourth bend fence at some considerable rate of knots, never seen a better ad for a softer impact point than that one, hope the guy's up and about sometime soon, very nasty looker from where I was? All the best my friend!! Well, that's all we can do now, colours are nailed to the mast it's in the lap of the god's how we do from here or failing that, an Ippo home win Thurs so, come on Witches, do it for us, you know you want to!! Bit of an up to Steve on the mike this evening, my word he was really stimulated by his own, "Do you believe" speech, had a bit of Martin Lutheresque about it!! :D Fair play to him tho, made a change to see him move about a bit and at least I now know what he looks like!! hules
I did say Lawson is better than Cook. Good performance from the Comets With 2 maximums at Workington and another last night there's no doubt Cook can have the son of god for breakfast, lunch, diner & supper
Taylorj
A fantastic night of speedway , sore throat today 😊 Ipswich pushed us all the way fair play to them they put up a fight , Risager the big let down for them . Great to see the lads after heat 15 you could see how much it meant to them , we were the big underdogs coming into these playoffs and with pure determination the lads have done us proud . Now I know I give you Ippo fans some stick but I will be cheering you on come Thursday , lets hope you ride for pride and do us Comets fans a massive favour 😉 Wishing Rohan a speedy recovery that was a horrific crash , best wishes to him We Are The Comets - We believe 😉😊
scaramanga
hopefully thursday will confirm if we are in the playoff final or not and then we can make plans for the bigest 2 meetings in the clubs history but where and when is the final likely to take place
comet49
The finals over 2 legs, lets hope the other group get their fixtures over with, whether it's us (pleeeeease!) or Cookies's lot.
Al Stewart
Well done Worky to dispatch the Group favourites Cannot envisage Monarchs taking four points off Ipswich as apart from Cookie, we are poor at Foxhall Heath and unlikely to get within six points there. With the October Green Sheets taking effect, Max Fricke moves into main body and Derek Sneddon drops to reserve which will restrict Edinburgh's scoring options. On the other hand, Witches can now replace Ellis with a PL guest and together with the in-form Hawkins as the other reserve, expect this to be decisively in favour of Ipswich at home. This might be a reasonable assessment in the circumstances but all Cyclone's previews are exactly the same - Monarchs will lose! That's not because he isn't an Edinburgh fan - it's because he is! He is the same with Hibs - always predicts defeat. We did win at Somerset and Newcastle, Theo Pijper has some new equipment, Claus Vissing is back home testing clutches... so you never know.

jenga
i think it should be run on the beach at Silloth (that's a few miles up the coast from Workington )

Only feasible alternatives would be to move fixture to Berwick or Newcastle (if they didn't make the Final), Edited September 29, 2013 by cyclone
Baldyman
What difference would it make to the rugby club if you had another meeting? Do they play on Saturday nights? Sorry I know nothing about rugby.

Sorry I know nothing about rugby. they are claiming they need time to prepair for the upcoming rugby world cup matches but lets face it derwent park is no fancy stadium it would take more than a few weeks to turn the place into something special

Sorry I know nothing about rugby. Workington are hosting 2 rugby World Cup matches in the coming weeks not sure what days they are on . Now Baldyman my friend please get your guys going on Thursday to beat Mr Invincible & Co for us 😉. I am sure Ipswich lying second in the PL wouldnt want to end in the playoffs with no points 😳 . Come on Ipswich witches ... who would have thought I would have ever shouted those words , hahaha !! Lord Lucan
Oh right, I didn't even know there was rugby world cup in this country. Thanks for that. Perhaps baldy if the posters had written that the fixtures were for the "Rugby League" World Cup it may have made more sense!! Workington RL applied to host two qualifying pool matches concerning Scotland, whom are being based here for those games, when Whitehaven had to back out after being unable to build a new ground in time, so, allied to the debateable theory that because a couple of Workington players with those international lineage associations like, "my granddad had a holiday there once" may well stimulate some local interest in those matches and make them a few bob? As scarra has pointed out, it will take more than a fortnight to ready that place for international standard sport, but as far as I'm aware no match is scheduled for the Saturday but it could depend on the TV coverage and what night/day they want it played coz as you know, TV rules everything!! Going from some while back, I'm sure the track is being used for television camera gantry's with the pitch being widened to bring it up to international standard, all could be considered as problems for the Comets if those things need to be in a fixed position prior to the the end of the speedway season? May be a serious issue if the other play off group don't get their matches done in a reasonable amount of time as it does state in the Comets fixture list that dates are available only until the 5th of October?
