spin king junior
I can't see it being a signing. Would be happy enough with Stead or Bates becoming an asset. Although it'll be interesting to see what Scunthorpe do with their team, I'd imagine Mellgren would be back soon, and they can drop Birks or Auty to bring Anders back into the team. Not sure if it'd actually happen, I'd be more than happy to have either at Sheffield! Edited June 11, 2014 by skj
scunny1
More like Thomas Jorgenson being the sacrifice than Auty or Birks. He would do you a good job at Sheffield too.
Tigerish
is Screeny making a comeback?
RS50
Can not see it being a new signing. Would be rather insensitive to the person losing their job to announce it like this.
Blackadder
That's what I thought, unless it was a replacement for Ty, who won't be there.
DIAMONDS
Maybe they will even up the team a little bit and add better strength in depth  1. Simon Stead 9.39 2. Andre Compton 4.78 3. Richard Hall 6.44 4. Anton Rosen 6.69 5. Leigh Lanham 7.40 6. Simon Nielsen 3.81 7. Josh Bates 3.

Just depends whether you're wanting Mellgren back. You'd only be able to fit him in if you were to drop Klindt, Douglas, Birks or Auty. Cue Ball
Bates becomes a club asset, as suspected, no new signing being made
graz gp
He was always going to sign for the Tigers. His name is Bates.
yorkshiretyke
Good move but wouldn't exactly call it BIG news. Why keep it quiet for 2 days?
montie
Good move but wouldn't exactly call it BIG news. Why keep it quiet for 2 days? Â I would say it is quite big news- you just signed one of the best youngster around ---- nice move
Cue Ball
Good move but wouldn't exactly call it BIG news. Why keep it quiet for 2 days? Â I would imagine that they kept it quiet in order to boost both fan and media interest - the speedway star comes out on a Thursday and Sheffield have always traditionally timed their press releases to coincide with that, our race night and the no doubt corresponding piece that will be in the Sheffield Star. The way Speedway is at minute, an asset means what?? Virtually nothing. Also it was always going to happen for obvious reasons!!

Well it mean we don't have to pay a loan fee, we have first say on where he rides before his elite or national league side and we get a loan fee if he double down or up.   Means a fair bit actually. Edited June 12, 2014 by skj
romans lovechild
yes an asset also means nothing if we cant fit him in due to averages or they have a fall out with the promotion or cant agree terms. so hardly the earthshattering news that the promotion made it out to be, but nice to see the promotion increasing their asset base. razzer
all this fuss over signing up promising reserve , pity cant spend more time where it really matters we have a great number one , one good 2nd string and two promising reserves , One heat leader brought in who never rides cos hes elsewhere and the remainder are garbage  simply carried on from the record of running down a once top professional club , they are amateurs with very little idea , you may as well concede next weeks tie ,there will be one man and a dog watching , even without england game  National league next year as that's the level of professionalism from these clueless clowns
