Sheffield 2014

Is that a dig at the size of Screeny?!? He's fast for a big bloke ;)

Might've been, but he is fast and wouldn't have any problem catching me!

He finished on 8.15.

Let's have him then!

No

Cheers. Didn't think I'd seen his name mentioned, but just wondered if he'd been an 'Also ran'.

A Stead, Roynon, Screen top 3?! Around Sheffield? The thought of it makes me smile. Actually jealous of the Sheffield fans. The last few years I've struggle to build the enthusiasm to watch much speedway but I'll be at Somerset to watch that top 3 this season - shame thee no other PL tracks around here :(

Wonder if he will treat the riders to ride like this.

The new promotion really are rolling back the years for sure, great to have riders and a manager with local connections.

Josh Bates is a up and coming rider from Barnsley and will do good job for us at reserve, and to have Joe Screen as manager will not only help Josh Bates education in the sport but he will no doubt create a great team spirit and that is what we need.

Is it March yet.

Excellent appointment. Welcome to Sheffield, Joe. I would have loved to have seen Screeny ride for the Tigers at some stage in his career but I am sure he will instill some team spirit which has been sadly lacking these last couple of years and hopefully have the same sort of effect that Shane Parker had on the team, albeit in a non-riding capacity.

I'm pleased with the signing of Josh Bates, a local lad who has made great progress recently and should be a decent number seven for us this year.

Seen a post couple of pages back from a poster called Moose. Was that a hint that Travis McGowan is making a comeback ?

If Screeny is doing another year at Sheffield , you are very lucky , he is a joy to watch in full flight

Actually I was referring to a previous post from Charlieboy who seemed quite confident that we were signing an Aussie who didn't race here last season. I have no idea who this may be, but if true then it's quite a short list I think and most of the likely names have already mentioned on here. One thing we should be confident of, is that Andre Compton will be added to the line-up and we keep seeing Leigh Lanham mentioned in the local press.
