Sheffield 2014

What amazes me, is that for a few months wether you were runing or not was in question, now that you allegedly are, some peeps are still not happy.

Be patient things will work out, Morris is a good rider, if you dont get him then i am sure the riders you do get will be good enough.

Well said. I'm sure the promotion are working hard to get the team completed, and are probably just as keen as the fans to get things signed, sealed and announced. It is dragging out a bit, but I'm just were running! Looked fairly bleak over the winter for us.

To be fair I think that fans of the club have been pretty patient, and I think that Dave Hoggart and the unnamed consortium recognise that.

The main problem appears to be all the legal problems, but fans have been told that this should be sorted very soon.

Like I have said there are still riders out there for the new promotion to go for that would make up an exciting team.

The league this year looks as good as ever with every team been pretty even with the exception of the two stand out teams for me Scunny and Workington.

Two ways the team build ing can go;

(1) Bring in Nick Morris who appears to want to ride for club and would give us not only a powerful top three but one that would excite and entertain the fans.

or

(2) Build a team around Simon Stead and more depth to it.

Either way I think that we could still be in with a chance of a play off place with the other 10 teams chasing Scunny and Workington.

Let's see how much Nick wants to ride for Sheffield when he has a chance to go back to Somerset?.

Know where my money is on.

Usually fantasy before any news then fact when all made public by announcements & says he knew all along but couldn't say anything.

You'll have to get use to the I know it all posts from Skidder without any substance.

I clarified my comments in #721 - and have been proved correct this morning!

And Good Luck to lad if that is the case and we move on.

End of the day it was an option that we had to sign him, and according to the Swindon Promotion he asked to ride for Sheffield.

Think we'll all be happy when the news comes about the take over being completed and the team being announced officially.

However after what Neil said on the official site on 22 November that he wanted to hand over the reigns as soon as possible in order that everything could move forward smoothly for the forthcoming season, it don't half seem to have taken a long time and it's understandable why a lot of fans have been wondering what's happening. Especially after the first two signings were announced and then nothing more could be done until all the 'paperwork' was completed.

From all this it must be concluded that all the negotiations were done with Neil being on his usual Australian winter visit. We know it's not that difficult now with electronic mail and face to face computer conferencing, but it must be awkward crossing all the t's and dotting all the i's.

Still there's nowt' like keeping all the fans/paying public guessing and it has helped pass on a few dark winter nights!
