Sheffield 2014

Iturre would be a class signing !

Really?

Iturre is older by a good few years than Facundo Albin. Iturre will have an assessed average about a point greater than Facundo Albin. Iturre will need a work permit, unlike Facundo Albin. Oh, and in the just-completed Argentine winter series, Iturre lost to Facundo Albin almost every time they raced each other.

Hmmm, let's see..... Nope, Iturre wouldn't be a class signing at all, Odsal Boy!

According to post just now, it indicates Albin is chomping at the bit to come back, with new engines -- but it is obviously up to Sheffield to put him in their 1-7, although from almost every post I've seen he is very much the people's choice.

Who makes the final decision now -- is it Mr Hoggart, or Mr Mole The Dentist?

Facu finished 2nd in the 5th international meeting and second in the championship, 1st Nicolas Covatti.-

Semifinal 1: Covatti-Albin-Bondarenko-Manev-Lopez (Fell)

Semifinal 2: Iturre-Garcia-Ruiz-Cuello-Franchetti

Final: Covatti-Albin-Iturre-Bondarenko-Garcia(Fell).-

I do not write the preliminary 20 heats .......

Albin doing well but it is an easier championship this year, previous winners not taking part i.e. Magosi and Sanchez and not any international riders except Bonderenko like previous years i.e. Kus, Gomolski, Rymel, Compton etc.

Having announced that Sheffield will be running this year, why are there no more signings being announced.

Is it waiting for the Nick Morris situation to be sorted or has the takeover hit problems?

Have a look at Sheffield 's facebook page.

Having Andre at 2nd string and 2 3 point riders I think you have better options.

I agree with what you're saying Spinny. Including Andre in as a second string rider on a 4.36 average is really a 'no brainer'. Having seen his return at the end of last season IMO he showed enough for me that when he's sorted out his gear, what with the new silencers etc, although he'll not be the same guy we remember from 2008/9, he will surely be able to build on that average - 1.5 to 2.5 points.

If not and Albin returns, with new engines and starts firing to his full potential, then he might make it into the top 5 and leave Andre as a very experienced and capable reserve.

If we don't get another big hitter and then either Stead gets injured again or Roynon doesn't reach or consistantly maintain his average, we'll be in the 2012/13 doodah again.

You're right, we won't be able to to get Richard Lawson guesting either now he's riding for Redcar!

I know steady has been training in the boxing gym but is the plan for a punch up with the other team if we are down on points ? :)

Quote in the Speedway Star is that two riders will be announced this week.

If this is true then I would guess that there will be announcement Wednesday/Thursday.

Given the assumption that team building is being held up pending a decision on Nick Morris by the BSPA General Council, can anyone provide a clue as to when the General Council meets? (It could be July for all I know!)

There was a BSPA Management Committee meeting yesterday so may have been discussed there?

As for team building/club matters we might not hear much club information until the handover from Neil to the consortium is completed, which according to today's Sheffield Star should hopefully be in the next few days.
