spin king
I have never seen Oliver Greenwood, anyone know if he is any good? Saw him a few times Guesting for Sheffield last season. Â Very promising rider, even won a heat 14 beating Lewis Blackbird, Jason Bunyan and Tyson Nelson.
bigrich
I would be very happy if oillie had signed for Sheffield
Cue Ball
Greenwood and Jacobs have signed for Peterborough. Gutted about Greenwood, think they have got a potentially class rider in him
spin king
Greenwood and Jacobs have signed for Peterborough. Gutted about Greenwood, think they have got a potentially class rider in him  With Ollie signing for Coventry and the Coventry/ Peterborough connection there was every chance that Ollie would finish up at Peterborough. I am actually surprised that Somerset did not take him/  But you know what if Nick Morris is doing Premier League, there is only one club that can now fit him in. OdsalBoy
I reckon Morris will be a Sheffield rider very soon :-)

spin king
I reckon Morris will be a Sheffield rider very soon :-) Â Who knows. Â Could it be that he is about to change his Elite League club. Â Maybe Sheffield could change their race night. Â Who knows. Â Nick did state on his Facebook page some fans will be disappointed with his next announcement.

spin king
Sunday afternoons was mentioned a while back. Â Sunday afternoons were basically thrown out by the fans last season. Â I am thinking along the lines of maybe going with Wednesday nights.
Paulco
Â Sunday afternoons were basically thrown out by the fans last season. Â I am thinking along the lines of maybe going with Wednesday nights. For many visiting fans , with Peterborough racing on a Tuesday night , a Wednesday night at Owlerton would be perfect . A wee midweek mini tour up and down the A1
Marcelle
Thursday's are tradition, why chnge it, if it was a wednesday the first time the pigs had a wednesday match there would be uproar.

I love the thrown out comment, do you really think a few on a speedway forum and a few on the crap facebook vote represents everybody who goes to Sheffield.
RS50
Sunday afternoons was mentioned a while back. Stadium in use by Sheffield Eagles Rugby and Stock cars many Sundays now.
spin king
I love the thrown out comment, do you really think a few on a speedway forum and a few on the crap facebook vote represents everybody who goes to Sheffield. Â i don't know. Â For me its not a problem these days I can go any day of the week, but in the group of 4 that I stand with SKJ, Squall and Roynon Fan. Â Sundays would rule out Squall due to work commitments, which in turn would more than likely rule out Roynon Fan. Â That 50% of our group ruled out. Â I don't think that Sundays is a great idea, there are lot of the top boys who ride Polish lower leagues on a Sunday. Stadium in use by Sheffield Eagles Rugby and Stock cars many Sundays now. And as you have pointed out the above are now booked to use Sundays.
RS50
In an article in the local paper on 20 December Stead said "We want to create a successful team and get the buzz back at Owlerton on Thursday nights" .
AndyK86
It ruled 50% of your small group out, could also work other way in many people who don't turn up on a school night would be able to go ! And as Berwick prove, you can work together so it could happen.I think the only way of boosting crowds is by us having a half decent team, that is always a good start ! Â As I said I don't know merely pointing out how it effect the group that go to speedway with. Â Anyway with the Eagles now using Sundays for Rugby matches that effectively rules out Sunday racing. Â One of the reasons for mentioning Wednesdays is that the stadium would be far more accessible on a Wednesday than on a Thursday, giving the Promotion more time to work on the track and don't forget that they now have an air fence to erect. Â But of course the main thing is that we get a winning team that we can be proud of.

Like with Berwick, it can easily be done to have both on same day and they don't play every week at home so would be very easy. Â Think best way is to just let promotion make their choice and we go with it. Â But we definately need a good team this year in order to start tempting fans back and we need to show ambition that the newer clubs have done. Â The last two seasons have been hell, and I have gone to meetings more out of habit than enjoyment.
