OdsalBoy
Like I said before I've got the same feeling about Albin. A report a few weeks ago mentioned him and that the club were looking for sponsorship and somewhere for him to stay. Then nothing. I would like to see him return though, he's not a quitter. Agreed - Now Albin has had a full season under his belt then surely he would come back stronger, on the right setup he could be amazing and has previously showed glimpses of what he can do. Very excited to see what happens over the next week or so.
luluthetiger
Facu Albin is surely coming back. With 2013's experience and another season at home in Argentina, he must be a trump card at reserve.
spin king
Facu Albin is surely coming back. With 2013's experience and another season at home in Argentina, he must be a trump card at reserve. I would more than welcome the lad back, and I think that the majority of fnns would. But I suppose its if the numbers fit, and the Promotion have sent out an appeal for accommodation for lad nearer to Sheffield. There seemed to be quite a few if and buts to whether or not he would be asked back.
Ariel75
Facu finished 2nd in the 5th international meeting and second in the championship, 1st Nicolas Covatti.- Semifinal 1: Covatti-Albin-Bondarenko-Manev-Lopez (Fell) Semifinal 2: Iturre-Garcia-Ruiz-Cuello-Franchetti Final: Covatti-Albin-Iturre-Bondarenko-Garcia(Fell).- I do not write the preliminary 20 heats .......
RS50
Quote in the Speedway Star is that two riders will be announced this week. If this is true then I would guess that there will be announcement Wednesday/Thursday. Well if they know now, why not tell us. I would love to understand what they think they gain by keeping us in the dark.
speedway_dan
If Compton is being considered I think sheffield will be missing a trick by not allowing him to start the season at reserve. He could be an early season trump card covering heats 2, 8 and 14. In return it would really take the pressure of somebody like koppe along side him.

spin king junior
Iturre would be a class signing ! Would he? didn't look all that impressive to me at the top gun. I think if we were to sign Itture, we'd run the risk of a similar problem to what we had last year.

Agreed would make us much stronger team and be a huge mistake by new promotion if they didn't take advantage of Compton's low average, but seems most want Koppe and another 3 pointer if Albin does not return due to lack of sponsorship/ place to stay. Think the promotion will be aware of compton's average. Would be good to have him at reserve but it depends on who else signs for the tigers. Would accommodate nick morris as first priority. Nick Morris would be great also but even if not Morris, with Compton at reserve there is a few good options for main body of team still. Think we'd be hard pressed to have Morris signed and get andre at reserve. Only 2 riders I can see that are left and would fit are Edberg and Stichauer, no thanks! AndyK86
paperwork needs to be in place before they can say theyve signed plus they normally time it so it can go in speedway star article also.
Steve55
Iturre would be a class signing !As skj says Iturre would have to come on an assessed 5.00 point average and from what I saw of him he wasn't as good a prospect as Facu. He also has same issues as Facu in that he'll need sponsors and residence, plus he will need visas etc, which shouldn't be a big issue. However why have him and not Facu?

Think most Sheffield fans would love to see him in the team this year, so hoping everything works out ok.

The idea is a good one, but the problem is the strength of the top 5. For instance to get Andre at reserve and to get strong effective heatleader you would be looking at two second strings between the averages of 5 and around 5.50. The problem there is that those types of rider are not available or you are looking at assessed riders and to be frank we went down that line last season, and I don't think that we really want to go down that line again. Having Andre at 2nd string and 2 3 point riders I think you have better options for an example. Nick Morris and Dakota North. or Nico Covatti and Leigh Lanham.
