Sheffield 2014

Recommended Posts

Nick Morris is a good rider but I'd rather have someone who just rides for Sheffield. I'm sick of all this doubling up nonsense with Jason Doyle being number one at Leicester AND Somerset and Craig Cook captain of Edinburgh AND Belle Vue (I think).

It's just stupid and needs putting a stop to.

The problem is that their is not enough riders to go around.

The other concern is that EL second strings and reserves don't get enough meetings in just the EL to survive, the top boys ride abroad so it isn't as much as a problem to them.

This is a pathetic post; the promoters vote in the MC and the MC apply the rules that the promoters vote for. Rossiter should have kept his mouth shut and dealt with this in private; he didn't; his problem.

Yeah right.

For an Elephant you certainly have selective memory.

Yeah absolutely right; the trouble is that some posters (perhaps you) prefer top listen to unsubstantiated gossip rather than deal with facts. The facts are that the promoters elect the MC of the BSPA; presumably because they believe they are the best fit for the job; therefore if you don't like the way the MC is run speak to your clubs promoter and see what he's got to say for himself!

It's a strange thing called democracy; people all round the world are fighting wars for it.

No I made several friends and good contacts whilst working for Peterborough some years ago and have a few years experience of working with the BSPA office and the MC and know how they operate.

I still have a good circle of friends within the sport and most of what I hear certainly isn't unsubstantiated gossip, pretty sure you haven't got a scooby do bearing in mind the degree in absolute bollox you continue to spout.

Is it not the case that Poles can ride in the PL as long as they ride on a UK licence? This is for the eminently sensible reason that in the past too many of them have missed meetings when ordered (or choosing to go) back home.

I'm all in favour of UK speedway doing what is in its own best interests and paying as little attention as it can get away with to EU law.

That statement is correct - The Poles will not licence any of their own nationals to ride in the Premier League, meaning they won't get any representative call-up at any level. Any young Pole can still ride PL on a UK licence, if he's happy to go down this route.

This is nothing to do with EU legislation, and happens widely across sport, even in this country - Toby Flood has chosen to pursue his Rugby Union career in France, and as a consequence, will no longer get selected for England.

Sheffield Speedway should look after there own business and not worry about other people. All the clubs have there own agendas. Sheffield should get on and sign some rider's. I think I am correct but have the tigers actually said they are signing Nick Morris.

Thanks you for your kind comments Dick, let's be honest I don't know you and you clearly don't know me. What I do know is that your opinion of me is somewhat confused with your opinion of others, instead of undermining my credibility why don't you endeavour to do something about yours? I'm not perfect by any means nor am I bitter and twisted about anything that hasn't worked out for me. Life is just too, too short. Enjoy your evening and by all means give me a bell if yiu want to talk about it.

I am not confused at all but yes your probably right that I don't know you that well, What I do know well is how your organisation works having had years of personal experience.

So impress me, make me change my mind, let's see the BSPA operate in an open, honest and up front way and let's have a rule book that's clear and cannot be interpreted to suit any particular person or club.
