spin king
over the festive spell. Club officials are refusing to be drawn on their identity but they’ve been forced to rethink their plans after missing out on Danish star Lasse Bjerre who has joined Peterborough." no mention of uncertainty of the club running but don't let that stop you misquoting, after all this forum thrives on it. I didn't actually "quote" what it said in the press release, but if you'd taken the time to read the previous article from the 24/12 you would have seen that it says that "Sheffield have already missed out on at least 2 potential signings due to the uncertainty surrounding the club ownership - one as recently as Friday when an international star snubbed the club because nothing was delivered in writing." That is a quote as is it is in "quotation marks"! Wonder who that international star was? You don't have to be a rocket scientist to work it out do ya! http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/other-sports/speedway/tigers-ace-out-to-beat-injury-jinx-1-6333459 As it says in the article it was Lasse Bjerre. Shadders
Heard about two or three possible buyers. (3) Squall and his Dad who have allegedly had a massive win on the scratch cards . Cue Ball
I lied it seems! Confirmation that a consortium has taken over the club is on the Sheffield website, not much more than that though - apart from confirming that fans are hoped/expected to help raise funds for an airfence. Oh, and a hint that we may go Elite in the future
OdsalBoy
good news and very chuffed, cant wait to see the remaining riders put in place now, bring on 2014.
The Third Man
Once the team, and air fence, are sorted the next thing needs to be a well deserved testimonial for Ricky, something that seems to have been forgot about Edited December 30, 2013 by The Third Man

Oh, and a hint that we may go Elite in the future Consortium being headed by Hoggy for the time being, why has this taken so long? And why all the secrecy about who they are? Well they'd better have a bob or two 'cos they've left it a bit late for fund raising for an air fence! They need to get things sorted for the coming year in the Premier League never mind moving up to the Elite in future, who wants that anyway? spin king
Spot on Third Man. 10 years service deserves a meeting for Ricky Ashworth especially when you see riders Kasperzak getting a meeting. Nice to see the new owners have been sorted out, would be nice to know who the consortium is but suppose we will find out in the near future. Hopefully we can now move on and build a team to be proud of. Personally don't want to go Elite, much prefer to stay with the Premier. And I suppose its a case of dusting down trainers for a sponsored walk. Wonder who will the one to volunteer for their sponsored chest wax. AndyK86
Well i am glad to see they have a little ambition for once, bring it on and if they decide to take us Elite then great stuff, Sheffield has the potential to go far but Machin just let it slide. Charlieboy
Great news now lets get the team finalised.I suppose they will announce who it is in the star on Thursday !!! Be good to see Ricky get a testimonial but it will probably have to be later in the season as we need to raise cash for the air fence first.Any news on lou charlesworth after his accident? Brummie Kev
Great News to hear that Sheffield has new owners, its a great venue and a fantastic race track that in my opinion should one day be in the Elite League.

Halifaxtiger
Consortium being headed by Hoggy for the time being, why has this taken so long? And why all the secrecy about who they are? Providing they put a decent team out (and I see no reason why that might not be possible) does that really matter ? Surely the important bit is that the takeover bid has been a success and that Sheffield will be coming to the tapes in 2014. Racin Jason 72
Get Leigh lanham. Great team man who is consistent on most away tracks. He won't gain much on his average but won't lose much either. As a second string he would be one of the best.
