Halifaxtiger
Brett Woodifield once score 19 from 7 at Newport beating Watson and Smart who both averaged over 9 that season. What did he ever do otherwise? Ok he was at reserve but he still beat the Newport top 2. Weirdly his dropped point was in heat 8 to what much have been Lee Dicken or Barrie Evans that season. Once saw Steen Jensen score 13 from 5 at Newport. Steen Jensen? Who? I've seen Billy Legg score a paid maximum and his average that season for 1.57 Didn't Lee Smart once score about 18 at Lynn? What you say is true but I think Katajisto got a few more than just one big away score. According to an earlier post, he's coming in on a 4.9 average. If he goes back to his Edinburgh average (by staying away from the hard stuff, it seems) he'll put 2 points on that. I think he's a good signing and that seems to be backed by those from Edinburgh. freddyfivetoes
Fact is hes a second string at best and has never been one of the leagues top riders - ever He's only 22. Hardly washed-up. If he can settle into an adult lifestyle, there is every chance his early talent could re-emerge and he could indeed become one of the league's top riders.
Pirate Nick
Jensen definitely is not a Plymouth asset, he is one match short. Quite agree, Barker may end up around his start at 9.44 but Newman and Davies going away from Somerset where their averages are heavily favoured towards their home scores will surely see them drop. They may get dialled in after a while but if Davies improves on 7.3 I'd be shocked! Kalle, well some say he's got great potential, others say he's poor. With that in mind he'll probably get around his average. Benko won't hit his assessed figure and Lemon could well be a reserve by the end of the year. Poor team imo! Especially when you compare it to the teams already declared! Kyle going well Down Under. http://www.gillmanspeedway.com/news/cameron-woodward-spoils-the-party-for-parks/

torpointfanatic22
Lemo has been a credit to the sport of speedway in this Country but in my view last season was one too many for him. It is unfortunate that he had officially signed and has now had the offer of a team place withdrawn but it has happened before in speedway and will happen again. Personally I'm shocked he even considered a return given how unhappy he seemed to be last season with various things. Good luck to him in whatever he does but in my view it's onwards and upwards for Plymouth now.

Watching him on a couple of occasions at Glasgow last year , it certainly looked like he was ready for retirement

Pirate Nick
Bit of a shoddy way to treat the bloke though.
craneman
I have to say that last year Mark tended to blame everything as a reason for his poor form. I would have preferred him to have been honest and given the real reason why he underperformed. He has seen in my opinion his best years. I did comment at the meet and greet to Mark that he hadn't impressed me in any of his recent matches which I had watched. The same still applies I'm affraid. Opinionated
What a farce. How unprofessional. Nothing surprises me anymore. I wouldn't have considered Lemon anyway, but this is not clever. Now it seems there are potential doubts about Alex Davies getting a work permit, according to the BBC sport webpage. You simply couldn't make this up, could you?
BEND ONE FAN
At this moment in time only Barker,Newman,Davies & Benko signed. Still a ? on the others. What ever been said M/L given a good service to speedway over the years. If he had been in the line up,I would have had to have gone with that. But if he is not,we could have quite a young line up. I wait in anticipation on the other riders. An for the 2014 season to start.

Starman2006
Would have been nice though if the Plymouth promotion had picked up the phone and asked Mark if he was happy, at Plymouth and that did he want to ride for them next season, rather than signing him then dropping him. Perhaps they should never had started negotiations in the first place. Would have saved all the heart ache.. Not very professional if you ask me..
