LagutaRacingFan
Cook is a dreadful guest, Wolves are ripping off the fans here. No wonder Sky are thinking about whether to renew. It's the play-off's! SPEND SOME MONEY on a guest!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anything can happen on the night, An injury to a top brummies rider (Obviously hope not) but why the hell are Wolves not taking this match seriously. Do you think that Cook will do any worse than PUK did in the 1st leg
Triple.H.
Cook over Bjerre...What a shambles. Says on Twitter that Bjerre has pulled out of the Goldenhelmet for family reasons so probably unavailable to guest
Steve Shovlar
Someone tell me Wolves are joking in bringing in Cook as their number one? If true it's an absolute disgrace and Wolves are waiving the white flag before a wheel has turned in anger. A complete joke and the Wolves management should be fined for lack of effort. No disrespect meant towards Cook, but an EL number one he is not. Surely there were better guests to book? Disgraceful.
scottyfan
Craig Cook scored 3,3,0,3 for Belle Vue in the league match at Birmingham and 0,3,3,3,2 in an early season Challange at Birmingham, So maybe not such a bad guest after all!!! Maybe Wolves should ask Birmingham to postpone the meeting. Don't want to cheat the paying public do we?
Bagpuss
Can't see who else is available really, Cook rides PB well and can gate and is in great form, albeit in a league he is too good for. Hoping Wolves can make a good fist of it, would be great to see both ties go down to the last heats.
ytsejam
Unless the referee stamps out Cook's rolling at the start, he actually poses more of a threat than Daddy Bjerre at Perry Barr. This meeting could come down to the referee's eyesight and how good he is at firstly, spotting rollers, and secondly doing something about them. Prefer "Roller" by Gillan - Thats a good point but also opens up a WHOLE can of worms when you mention rolling!. It really annoys me that so many top riders regularly do it (including Woffy, NKI, Anderson) and basically its cheating when 90% of the other riders DON'T do it. It could all so easily be stopped though if a) the ruling bodies of Speedway had any balls or b} the starting gate marshalls actually did something for once or were given powers to be something other than just be a figure of fun to be ignored by the riders. You can always spot the "rollers" before a race starts because they always line up 12-18 inches behind the other riders (or sometimes even AFTER the marshall has given the signal that all is ok,they then roll back a little) . A new rule should come into the sport saying that every rider needs to be within a certain distance of the tapes (close enough to stop anyone risking rolling) when the "OK" is given and when they go up. This could be done either by the start marshall when he is "lining them up" or a line could be painted on the track (or side of it) and the riders monitored by either the ref or an official at the tapes. Once the marshall was satisfied they were all lined up within this mark, anyone who then rolled backwards out of it in order to get a roller, would be disqualified. Easy to implement, easy to police and then we would see just how good SOME of these riders who rely of making the gate as their only main weapon, really are!. Basically, cut out the cheating. What a pair of disrespectful supposedly speedway fans there is nothing shambolic or disgraceful about the choice of guest, who would you suggest Bjarne Pedersen, Scott Nicholls, Davey Watt. Better still Steve have a word with Matt and get your match called off so we can use Darcy in the best interests of the sport.
zlata prilba
Good news for Brummie fans is that Doyle Harris and King came through accident free in Pardubice this afternoon:-)
SteveEvans
Awful that Wolves are giving a shot to the fastest rising British rider in Speedway, especially against a top heavy superstar laden team like the Brummies. They should have spent their money on a GP rider who gives it there all and respects the fans by always giving 100 percent, like Krystof Kasprzak or one who excels in the Play Offs like Bjerre. Phil The Ace
Barker has crashed at Newcastle tonight and is off to hospital with suspected broken knuckles. SteveEvans
Yes, it will be very difficult for a team with so much depth to make R/R (if needed) work at home. Wolves to win and beat a combined Swindon / Poole team 150-30 In the final....
