Stoke V Kent Kings, Now 27/10

The BBC Weather forecast looks bleak for Sunday - heavy rain between 11am-2pm then another shower at 4pm.

BBC Weather also adds::

::::

Sunday

Unsettled, with sunny intervals and frequent showers. Again, showers are likely to be heavy with the risk of thunder. Stormy conditions developing late in the night.

I can confirm the meeting has been postponed

Oh dear. Can't see these matches being staged before Thursday.

Postponed...Till when??

Doesn't the season officially end on Thursday? And possibly no chance surely of a double-header in mid-week?

I am certaintly not saying tough if there is no info from any other source, I would hope there would be but the promotion have told the website not to expect any info after this weekend until next year.

Shame but that's what they have said.

That's right about the website. At the moment, not a word about Sunday's rained-off match nor any indication as to what MIGHT happen in regard to a rearranged fixture.

Nor an explanation to why Connor Coles is out of the side!

C'mon Malcolm get a double header arranged for Wednesday. A professional sport has responsibilities to complete its fixtures - to season ticket holders who paid upfront to see all fixtures, fans who expect every effort to be made and riders who've spend on machinery based on the publicised number of matches to complete fixtures. There's lots of drying wind around - surely this could go ahead either Wednesday or Thursday?

To be fair Malcolm is the team manager and can not be held responsible,,,,this is down to the promotion to sort out...

I agree Waco. It is the duty of the promoter not the team manager to arrange alternative dates for rained off fixtures. No blame at all on Malcolm Vasey over this.

At the moment its any day up to and including Friday, not Saturday because Startrax are there for small oval cars racing, with Sunday clear again - but is the speedway season allowed to extend into November? And the long range weather forecasts for the next five days do not look all that good either.

And remember Stoke are looking to stage a double header - not just the match v Kent Kings.

At the moment (Tuesday October 29 11.03am) there's nothing on either the Stoke site or Kent Kings site about a rearranged fixture. In fact so far as I can see Kings don't even mention that last Sunday's match was postponed.

And of course still no reason for the Connor Coles situation!

Dont think its going to happen now,in a way it was a bit of a nothing meeting, in so much as nothing resting on it,but more lost earnings for the riders ,not really good enough from the promotion, not even taking the recent weather in to account other meetings have been got on.. And the lack of information from clubs involved is also bad..is it any wonder fans are becoming disalusioned with the sport ...

Well we have read that the Kent Kings website will not be operational again until next season. So that's a great service for their supporters who wonder (a) about a rearranged match at Stoke and (B) what's happened to Connor Coles?
