Congratulations to the Diamonds. Such a shame that you didnt get the meeting you deserved to go with it.

Just one of those nights for Ipswich I'm afraid. Perhaps a little nervous and trying to give it everything.

We could 'if and but' about what the final result would have been but ALL the Diamonds fans really felt for the Ipswich fans who made the long journey.

So noticeable that the celebrations of the Diamonds fans were really muted.

Get well soon to all the missing riders including Robbo and Rohan.

p.s - great to See JK making a comeback after the match.

Well done The Diamonds ,but I got no enjoyment in winning the cup . Over as a contest when Leigh and Ben crashed out the meeting. This is why I hate the playoffs too much can go wrong in speedway . If this fate happens to Somerset when they finished top of league in a two legged final it would be a travesty

That is very harsh :o , he had 5 races in a row, he could have just given up and gone home but he didn't

Why? It was embarassing to be honest! For Andrew Tully to fall off end up half a lap behind Compton then to get up back on his bike and pass Compton again was truly embarassing. How long has Compton been using speedway as a hobby now? He's never improved.... Got worse if anything and he was tailed off by miles in all of his rides.

Congratulations to Newcastle, although unfortunately the meeting became a non contest when Lanham & Barker had to withdraw hope they are both ok.

Felt very sorry for the Ipswich Supporters tonight. I was looking forward to a good Meeting and moaning as usual that Ippo had two Double Points Rides to make the Thirteen Point recovery very difficult for us and then both Lanham and then Barker (who is excellent around the Brough Park Track) were lost through unfortunate injuries. The Ipswich Team were then effectively down to four Riders as they were already using R/R because of injury to Tungate at Workington. The remaining Riders tried their best to compete but in one Race could only Track one Rider.

I am really glad that we won the Cup but the Meeting totally lost it's edge after the injuries. Newcastle though could only ride their best against whoever was put out against them and they did so with great efficiency.

To sum up - GREAT to pick up some Silverware - sad that it came about in the way it did. (Not Newcastle's fault though - no Newcastle Riders were involved in the accidents).

I would like to wish a speedy recovery to both Leigh Lanham and Ben Barker.
