There's no denying the man is a fantastic talent on the track, alas he also seems to be a bit of a fool off the track. Nobody is saying Darcy would have deliberately caused a crash. The point being made is that even a small amount of alcohol in his system would affect his reaction speed; even if he felt fine. Should he get involved in a difficult racing incident, that slower reaction time might be the difference between avoiding an accident or crashing at high speed, potentially injuring either himself or a fellow competitor. THAT is reason enough to have a zero tolerance policy on alcohol. And THAT is why he should get a ban, to both hopefully teach him a lesson, and also to set an example to others.

Banning him would not be an anti Poole thing, it would be an anti alcohol thing.

He wouldn't have because he wasn't out of it. Interview went well wasn't slurping words or anything also conducted himself well and answered the questions asked correctly also Darcy wasn't walking sideways or anything.

Yes because it was a silly mistake and as I said if it was a footballer or celebrity then they wouldn't even get a fine they would just get away with it.

I have seen people drunk in the past and honestly Darcy wasn't even a 1/3 of the way there.

Like I said I am not sticking up for Darcy I just think a hefty fine and a slap on the wrist is enough.

The fact is members are saying Darcy was drunk when he wasn't. Darcy just didn't hydrate properly. Everyone is entitled to there opinions.

So when someone blows over the limit when driving next you can say to the officer `i`m not slurping words or anything also conducting themselvesf well and answered the questions asked correctly andwasn't walking sideways or anything.` so therefore officer i am not drunk????

If you are over the limit you are over the limit.

END OF

Like you said - YOU ARE sticking up for Darcy by making excuses for him.

No I said Darcy was not drunk. I never said Darcy didn't have alcohol in his system because Darcy did but there is a difference from having a drink to being drunk.

I have also said Darcy should be punished with a fine and a slap on the wrist.

Therefore I am not sticking up for Darcy.

People have been pulled over for driving and they would say they aren't drunk because it was the previous night.

Therefore the test is as accurate as a road side test.

You think the rules that applied to Stefan Danno being banned for 8 months shouldn't apply to Darcy for doing exactly the same thing.

So yes, you ARE sticking up for Darcy.

No Darcy shouldn't get a ban. Darcy just didn't hydrate properly that's why Darcy failed the test.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

You are blinder than i thought.

You must be the only person on the Speedway planet that believes it.

You condone the actions of someone guilty. What a proud moment for you.

Funny I thought you was blind. Darcy hasn't been found guilty. What do you mean a proud moment for me. You have stated that Darcy was drunk and he could have put a fellow rider in a wheelchair. Like I said there is a difference from having a drink to being drunk. Darcy had a drink yes but did he get drunk i say no but nobody knows. If Darcy did get drunk then I doubt Darcy would have been fine to race the next day

So he wasnt guilty but got banned from taking part in the GP by failing a breath test???

You cant make this up.

There is no point trying to have a sensible conversation with you because you are clearly trying to defend the indefensible.

You are in favour of riders not being punished. Like i say you should be proud.

As if Speedway hasnt sunk low enough and now we have supporters like this trying to defend a guilty party.

Hopeless.

If Darcy was guilty then how comes the FIM not POOLE haven't come to a decision yet? Nope Darcy should be punished with a hefty fine and a slap on the wrist and a final warning. Nothing wrong with me I am just saying it how it is.

Everything that i as a human being and speedway supporter disagrees with.

Anyway, i am wasting no more time discussing with someone who advocates this sort of behaviour.

Isn't this two separate issues though?

They should have an opinion on their star rider failing a breathalyser test and being thrown out of an important meeting regardless of any further penalty imposed.

Or are they waiting quietly hoping he gets no further ban so they can sweep this under the carpet?

I would suggest as the incident happened at an FIM event and Poole are only involved with EL they are allowing the authorities that run the event to rule on it first. To comment or act in any way at all could be said to prejudice and proceedings the FIM take.

Any amount of alcohol in your system however small will have some effect on your Judgement, if I was another rider I'd want darcy checked every match as he seems top have a problem, and a fine as with footballers is no deterent, hit them where it hurts most and thats doing what they love be it speedway football. The FIM have to be seen to be consistent, Danno got a ban and so should Ward, if not they are basically giving riders carte blanche to get pissed up.

Totally agree

The fact is members are saying Darcy was drunk when he wasn't. Darcy just didn't hydrate properly. Everyone is entitled to there opinions.

No we are saying Darcy was over the limit imposed by the SPEEDWAY authorities when he turned up to race SPEEDWAY. Anything else is irrelevant.

See above. Drunk or tipsy or even rat-arsed doesn't come into it. In this case it's the numbers that count and Darcy's were too high.

Well we feel the same way then. Me neither you have your opinion on the situation and I have mine.

The difference is the most of Poole fans and all sensible fans all think they way i do.

Enjoy your lonely Darcy is innocent club. It has very few members.

I am just saying if Darcy was 100% guilty then the FIM would have come to a decision by now.

NOT so... report from Jury in Latvia has to be sent to FIM HQ in Geneva who must then convene Medical Commission to act upon it.

I think he should have been suspended from all competitions the moment the test results were in, pending the outcome of the jury.

At least one person sees common sense and wait for the results are.

The other thinks its already blown over.

Well said FB and desperation on behalf of the former poster.

The fact he can ride with decision pending is not right, he has let alot of people down but most of all himself, the only mitigating circumstance is it all came too early for him and should of spent longer in the lower leagues like Chris holder did, i sincerely hope he learns from this but if he doesn't get a ban he may not and that would be bad for him and the sport.

But I haven't said Darcy was innocent have I?.

If it was clear cut then the jury would have come up with a decision by now but they haven't so something is not right.

Darcy drunk the night before so he didn't just down pints and then drive a car or bike an hour later or something did he. Darcy thought it would have been out of his system the next day but it wasn't and if Darcy would of known that then Darcy wouldn't have done it in my opinion.

Oh stop it your making my sides ache!

Anyone with a brain knows that it can be in your system a long time afterwards, i know James Hunt was drunk alot in his career but it is different now and professional sportsmen cannot drink, there is plenty of time in the winter for that.
