Proctor may have looked like a junior and Milic stylish but put them round Monmore and the roles no doubt would be reversed. After watching Tungate tonight think Poole may have missed out here. Very professional and stylish could have done with him in the team I reckon

surprise surprise ur on a poole thread again lol, milik will easily average more than proctor this season.

To be honest its the criteria that's wrong rather than Poole themselves.....U21 final and GP qualifying results should be taken into account but aren't, its just the standard of league a rider has competed in.

Still remains to be seen how he performs, people are talking like he has set the league alight already. Let's wait and see.

There is no criteria. Peter Oakes gives them an average he thinks is right.

In that case Peter Oakes should take U21 and GP qualifying results into account. Surely it would be better to have an independent panel of people deciding rather than just one individual?

Every club was after Darcy rather than 'kipping', and if Matt was totally on the ball he'd have discovered Ward before Lynn and saved himself a few grand.

You're right about Holder though, and although Milik was common knowledge Ford was the only one to take a chance on him, so if he's a success then hats off. I fancy he will be all at sea on a few away tracks but time will tell. Certainly don't see Poole dropping too many points at home.

Darcy came over at the end of 2008 and made several appearances for a Poole junior team...........Think that was BEFORE KL signed him!!!! Edited by scottyfan

Perhaps so but Darcy and his family had been coming to Lynn, staying with Buster and riding round the NA since he was 12. And I would suspect that Darcy had agreed to sign for Buster before these Poole appearances you speak of otherwise there wouldn't have been a world record fee involved in the winter of 2009 and he'd have been a 'protected asset' like Holder and Doyle were!

So there :approve::D

Matt Ford paid Kings Lynn a very large amount of money for Ward which gave that club a bit more financial security.

Nothing untoward happened. No tapping up, no nothing other than a completely legit transfer. Both clubs were happy with the outcome.

I'm not sure why some are upset by Milik having a 4.00 average?

The way the BSPA works the averages today is correct. They do have a system and it's simple. Milik wasn't involved in any of the other European top leagues so rightly given his current average.

IMO no rider should have their average established by what they do in individual events. League racing is a team sport so GP's, qualifiers, SEC etc shouldn't even come into an assessed riders average.

For the record, Milik obtained an 8.80 in the Polish 2nd Division in 2013

No, rider are giving an average by an "independent" person. How they work that out only they know. As I said in the winter, 4.5 or 5 would have been fairer but it's a bit late now.

Who is suggesting otherwise?

It's only an independent person as you put it if they've established an average in the European top league. If not, they're automatically given Category 2 status which is a 4 unless they're USA or Commonwealth then they're given a Category 3 status.

I guess it depends on you definition of professional league. But the rules certainly do indicate that a rider could be WU21 Champ, WC, Scored a max in the SWC final yet could be a 4 if he has only raced in any countries second division. Ok it's unlikely but not impossible.

The season has not really started yet, however, the usual crew who are not Poole supporters are taking their usual stance.

If this forum is going to have any credence then a more balanced posts need to be offered.

All teams start the season on a par. Each club can build their team within the rules. How the hell can people start moaning already?

Because they are worried about another year of Poole dominance.
