weatherwatcher
What I ment that Sky let Box nation take over most of the boxing that they showed on Sky Sports.Box nation started off a free to watch then after about 2 or 3 months they announced that if you wanted to watch Box Nation they you had to pay an extra £10 a month to watch it on top of your Sky subcrition. Quite a few boxers that where with that promoter left him to go with others that showed boxing on Sky, so in the end they have lost out, You get the main fights then it looks like all week long it is repeats of the same fights. Can't see this working with speedway, it would be like the promoters charging you and extra £10 admission a month to see your home matches and I can't see loyal speedway fans forking out an extra 310 to watch speedway on the telly I for one wouldn't as I forget half the time it is on. At least I can get what I need from my local track what ever else you get is just that bit extra. If my team raced on a Monday I wouldn't bother if I missed it on the telly thouigh. Hope something good dose happen and that speedway gets all the coverage it needs. Bring it on and lets get speedway into this centuary and moving along and keep it going for many years to come. It would be horrid if riders started losing interest in British speedway if the Tv rights where lost and they didn't get the media coverage to pay them that extra that they get from the Tv rights. I think many top names would go from our tracks if thier earnings where reduced. They like the limelight and the extra money they earn. Who can blame them. When you think of the stupid amonts of money a top footballer earns a week it is a pitance to what they get, would they come if the carrot was no longer dangled in front of them. Times have sadley changed from 20 or 30 years ago when in all sports you did it for the love of it now it revolves around what you can help to increase your bank balance. British speedway would become that with the top foriegn riders no longer bothering to grace our shores if the cash incentive was not there. It would happen within a few years too. Why bother coming over here to race for peanuts because that would be all the promoters could afford to to pay if they didn't get the extra money from the Tv rights. It is a shame but that is how the world works these days. No cah no bother.
Ray Stadia
I reckon they are going to announce that Speedway will be returning to ITV on Saturday afternoons, 'World of Sport', with Dickie in the chair and Dave Lanning doing the commentary! Free to view. Reason for the delay, they are getting Dickie and Dave down the gym to get them 'fit for purpose'!

marko
Wrestling is very much like speedway on sky tv in that results are predetermined before hand, all in the interests of whats best for business of course.
Walshy1974
I heard from a well informed source in the cafe across the road that the deal requires there to be a clockwise race every 3 heats. Additionally if a team falls more than 10pts behind they can fire a water cannon at the away riders, but only head on down the straights for safety purposes.. of course they run the risk of shooting their own riders too so a level of skill is required. Team Managers only to operate the cannon. The shots from the CannonCam should be spectacular. Apparently Louis jnr has already installed a water canon at Foxhall. The signings to be announced in coming weeks will have crowds rushing for the turnstiles. The canon will be used as crowd control prior to the meeting. Get to Jack's cafe, 1st for all speedway news.

StevePark
McManus and Logan vs Burt royal and vic Faulkner , wrestling at its best. Good old days. I appear to have started a whole new thread within a thread! On YouTube there is Bert Royal v Steve Logan in a singles match. Meanwhile - let's hope there is some announcement soon regarding live league speedway on a channel, be it Sky, BT, Eurosport etc.
