Sotonian
Typical middle aged man trying to look younger. It will all be tied into a ponytail next. Nah, he's just showing off because he still has plenty at his age.
rob tatum
The GPs have been great & every year the product has improved. The elite league has been rubbish & getting worse every year. Can anyone honestly say all is fine & we should just carry on as we are ? Just reading the posts it appears just a couple of poole fans feel this way but surely anyone with a modicum of sense knows that the time is up a massive change is needed NOW.

Sky do not seem to agree with that. They dropped the GP's but are still broadcasting the Elite League.

Grand Central
Sky do not seem to agree with that. They dropped the GP's but are still broadcasting the Elite League. Not really a fair representation of what occurred. The SGP contact came to an end last year and Sky chose not to negotiate a new one. The Elite League contract still had a year to run so they carried on throughout 2013.

Where the viewing figures for Monday night(midweek) speedway were still better than when Sky covered the GPs!!!
stevebrum
No they had full stadiums every week and only pterodactyl`s in black leathers.
TesarRacing
Just a heads up attack the post not the poster. Exactly! It's been a cracking season but watch out, Gavan, the Voice of Reason and the other depressives will be after you! Been a super season of racing, and last night was a superb meeting with a great outcome. Tomorrow sees a mouth watering battle between Poole and Brum with more of the same next week. Possibly the best speedway season in a few years if you stay out of the politics and enjoy your sport. Don't let the depressives tell you any different. There shouldn't be any problem retaining Sky Sports then for 2014. Edited October 7, 2013 by TesarRacing
Trees
Are you saying the Elite lge is in great shape ? Rob is making perfect sense with his post... No the EL isn't in great shape in many ways but it's not all negative, how he can compare running GPs to running a league I don't know, not all is fantastic about the GP series imo!
BADGER69
and only pterodactyl`s in black leathers. At least they could pay there way. And now you have prima donnas in multi coloured kevlars and sarcastic fans on forums

They did nothing but whinge and whine about the sport.
rob tatum
The elite league on sky comes across no better than a cycle speedway meeting. So please let's not kid ourselves the gps on tv look great the elite league looks dire. A blue tarpaulin with car tyres covers the dog track at the man utd of speedway poole well that looks really great on tv dosent it A no not really. All my opinion . bellevueace
Funny when people relate to speedways past we get the dinosaur accusations, but in those days we had the best league in the world, real racing, world class british riders, a much fuller fixture list, team riding, and last but not least heaving terraces. Nothing there you can accuse modern day speedway of.
