Speedway Just Had A Mention In Coronation Street

Coronation Street episode last night (Friday), Hayley Cropper buys Roy Cropper a cap for his birthday and when he puts it on, Hayley tells him he looks like Dirk Bogarde from the film 'Once a Jolly Swagman'. Roy said he hadn't heard of the film and asked whether he played a train driver. Hayley said no a Speedway Racer! Perhaps a speedway loving scriptwriter?

Sorry, didn't notice it had been posted elsewhere. Perhaps admin can cancel mine out! Is it just me or are others finding the site very slow?

No leave it on as many threads as possible as you never know the press might pick up on it and have it as their lead story next to Tai becoming World Champion

P taking lot. This and trending on twitter is just what speedway needs.Next year looks much better for the sport already. After this they'll just have to open the gates and watch the punters flood in

P taking lot.

I hope your not including me in your post as I have not once put a smiley or winking icon. I have even started a thread on a Premier League 2013/14 website as I saw some kids playing football on Hollyoaks Edited by KEITH M

Having spoken to somebody involved in the production of Corrie I can reveal that last night's "mention" was the result of months of high level negotiation between the shows producers and representatives from the domestic sports media rights holders GSI.

An insider said "this has been a long tortuous process, but after many hours of top level talks GSI delivered yet more high profile exposure for the sport - this could be the start of something big"

Fantastic news for the sport!
