Wolfsbane
Hopefully now all at Cov can get on with running speedway instead of arguing like stroppy kids. It's reckoned that away wins will be hard to come by this season and these are 8 points we can ill afford to lose Edited March 26, 2014 by Wolfsbane
abbo
Well said Wolfsbane, Mick Horton has a lot on his plate with three failed meetings so far this season. Let's be fair none of them his fault. I know it has been disappointing but he needs a Bee's supporters to get behind him. This afternoon I went to Brandon to have a first hand look at the track. It was very damp and I spoke with one of the staff who went to great lengths to explain what the problems were. Apparently most tracks used to obtain their shale from a location near Leeds, this season for some reason they have not been able to supply this shale and they have had to source it from elsewhere. The staff member also explained how the various tracks prepared their tracks and the methods used. I won't describe the tracks to prevent any silly comments from supporters of other tracks. The shale used is made up of small stone and a clay type mixture. Today they have been treating the track especially the first bend with small stone chippings to harden the present surface and also to provide grip. I was told that it is hoped that the track will be completed in preparation for Fridays meeting, depending on how much rainfall there is between today and Friday. As it stands it looks good and hopefully we can get the season moving with a win over the Brummies. I must thank the staff member at the Stadium the information was supplied and discussed with me with no holds.
TesarRacing
Just read the website. That's gotta be the biggest most HUMONGOUS slice of humble pie EVER....!!!!! Excuse me I gotta go, I've just pissed myself laughin so hard. Truly Brilliant...!!!! ...and your point is? I will gladly share some of said pie with Mick if it means Coventry get back on track this Friday and I am not even a Bees supporter!
proud panther
Got to feel a bit sorry for Horton, although some of the problems were of his own making. He did manage a smile when I told him to give the lottery a miss on Tuesday just after the meeting had been called off lol.

Think `Had` is one of those that didn`t turn up to have it out with Mick. he`s got no Balls to back up his rants. False dawn
I do hope I am wrong but I have to say that anybody who seriously thinks that Coventry will have a new stadium within 3 years is in cloud cuckoo land. I hate to say, but the experience of watching closures over the past 40 odd years leads me to agree with you. How many times have I seen promoters saying, "We'll be back within N years" where N is usually 1 or 2? And the reality is that most (90%+) never come back. And the sad part is that it is nothing to do with the potential fan base. I think of Cradley, Long Eaton, Exeter and quite a few more when I say this. The real exception during my following is Leicester. Well done you, you made it back and this year into the top division. A fairy story? Yes! But how many years were we deprived of our local rivals. Far, far too many. So we must head into that desolate land of having no home to race at with extreme caution. Mark my words.

Is Micks luck finally changing? Im sure he would much prefer we faced Poole on our regular race night and not on Sky, this would ensure a bigger crowd.
Steve Shovlar
Well done to Horton for eating the humble pie. Most of us have said things or done things in the past which we quickly regret. Much better to go back and apologise quickly rather than letting things fester and cause ill feeling at a later date.
weatherwatcher
I am a Leicester fan and so glad that they made it back. But there are so many negative Lions fans on this forum it is a wonder that they still have a fan base. I feel so sorry for The bees and do hope that this mess gets sorted out for them to have a team to follow. As stated eirkier so many stadiums have been lost. I used to go to Weymouth stadium when we went on holiday down there, they lost thier stadium when it was sold for housing and are still struggling to find a new haome. I e-mail the website the other day and they wouldn't even say what was happening only that things where in the pipeline in the next few years, when will that happen though. We don't need to keep losing clubs, through the sale of our stadiums for redevelopment. But I supose it all boils down to money, get the site sold with planning permission for housing and then they are laughing all the way to the bank, with no more spending money on a stadium. The Lions have been one of the lucky ones to make it back again. Just hope we stay there. With more support and far fewer moans.

markyb
You are deluded I'm afraid. Speedway cancelled having had no rain. Your point now IS??????????????????? Wouldnt waste my time. All you lot who had it out with Mick???? Has it made any difference. Think whats going on now proves the point that no difference at all.Would it be so difficult for someone from the club put out a truthful statement clearing up once and for all what the hell is going on instead of all the petty sniping at one another. I had a 100 mile round trip yesterday which was a total waste of time and money, add into that my 10 year old sons disappointment when at 6.40 we get there to find a board at the entrance saying speedway cancelled and the area was bone dry, No explanation why. The last two years at the club have been a disgrace and a total embarrassment from top to bottom with no exception. The fans have been SHAT on from a great height and there seems to be no sign of it ending this season. Was looking forward to this year but all enthusiasm have been kicked out of me already Well mine was just a 2 mile trip from home and never thought to look at the meeting being called off as no rain all afternoon or evening. I did think somebody was taking the Mickey at first when I saw the "meeting off" signs at he car park entrance. My 8 year old daughter thought I messing her about when I said we were going home. She was so keen to see ryan terry daley in the mdl second half event. What a dreadful state of affairs. I have been very Anti mick Horton and Neil Watson over the last week or so on my rants on the forum. Actually, sorry guys you didn't deserve my criticism ((as if that matters) you are being mugged off by mr Sandhu and his "boy" Heaver big time ! I now appreciate the good you trying to do - after all why would you want to do anything different. Keep the faith guys.
mdmc82
Harris had a great night guesting for Wolves tonight. top scorer and scored 1, 2*, 3. 2*, 3, winning heat 15 to take the wolves win. just wish we were getting to see him in bees colours
Bees_Man
Think Sandhu's name with the bees supporters is now beginning to not shine as bright as it once was. I for one have zero faith that he has any interest in getting us into a new stadium in three years time. In fact I'm more convinced he's trying to see is gone after this season.

Im not so sure he is trying to get us out of Brandon asap but I cant see him building a stadium for us.
Dornier
Don`t think Sandhu has any intentions of finding a new venue for the Bees, He`s known all along he was going to sell Brandon so if he was serious about it he would have had somewhere lined up beforehand.. Mick desperately needs a good season this time otherwise I think the fans will desert a sinking ship and it will be an early end to the Bees. The whole kit and kaboodle will transfer to Peterborough thats my opinion......
mdmc82
Garrity had a decent night for Rye House too. Fisher and Howarth also had good night. Shame they weren't all given opportunity to have a good night as a team at Brandon on Friday.
