Glory hunters! ;)

Havvy is always going to love Poole, Bees fans just need to get over it! :P

I know there was a 'wink' in there Lisa, but hardly Glory Hunters when it looks like there will be no EL (Top Flight(British league)) racing at Alwalton in 2014. But my intention is to still support the top flight speedway as I have for many years including some sponsorship and Coventry have definately put together an exciting team for 2014 so I will be at Brandon as often as I can.

GREENWOOD TRANSFER COMPLETE

Thursday December 05, 2013
greenwood_oliver4.jpg COVENTRY Speedway are delighted to confirm a deal has been agreed to make promising youngster Oliver Greenwood an asset of the club.

Greenwood, 18, rode for Coventry Storm in their debut National League campaign this year, and delivered a string of solid performances despite missing the opening three months due to a badly broken wrist.

Now promoter Mick Horton has concluded negotiations with his Scunthorpe counterpart Rob Godfrey to enable a full transfer to take place, and Greenwood is expected to again line up for the Storm next season and also hopefully gain further Premier League experience after several guest bookings late-on in 2013.

Horton said: “We’re really pleased to complete this deal, and once again it’s another promising young rider for the future that we’ve added to the club’s asset base.

“I would like to thank Rob Godfrey at Scunthorpe for his co-operation in our talks, and the deal was finalised on Wednesday evening.

“We look forward to having Oliver back with the Storm in 2014 and it’s more positive news to have him on board with the club.”

We will get over it when he's gone. :D It's not just the Poole thing anyway. I'm not a 'pit watcher' but I've heard enough things from others who are that he's not much of a motivator and doesn't do a lot. They might all be completely wrong but the team came bottom of the league so it doesn't say a lot about his skills. If he had been a Football manager he would have been out long before the end of the season.

Poole won the EL play-offs and Middlo still got more stick than Havvy!! :D:wink:

Hans for me too, Chris has ridden with Hans before and If I remember rightly said he wanted him back the next season they got on so well. We need Chris to hit the ground running and not messing about with bikes for months on end....

Bomber has recognised this and has mentioned it in an interview and is entering his 2nd season riding PJR motors.

There is a suggestion that Tomasz Gollob has failed to beat the deadline for confirming his availability for the 2014 SGP

If this is true, and I know it's a big if, Chris Harris would move up in to the series, which could compromise his availability for Fridays at Brandon

And I wonder if Hans Andersen could be missing meetings if he's in the European Championships in 2014?

Was on FIM website but was then removed. I'd guess it would be Harris taking Gollobs place as he is first reserve.

As Gollob has declined a wildcard entry, I would imagine that wildcard will be offered to someone else who was on the wildcard list..

HARRIS is in SGP ...

If, as you say, Harris is IN the SGP's, then he has been selected as a wild card in place of Gollob and not there as a qualifier.

I would have thought, there were better people, more suited to replace Gollob then Harris, riders like MJJ and Magic, both stars of the future.

I feel Harris has had enough chances and the opportunity should be given to younger talented riders.

true GRW123, however he's there on merit via the challenge i think... but yes, the place should go to somebody else, you could put Kildemand in the same bracket to be fair as the two you mentioned.

You are wrong-Chris Harris is not a wildcard-Gollob was and has declined so the next in line from the Poole staged challenge final is promoted into the series. The rights and wrongs of Harris`s inclusion in that Poole meeting has been debated at length on the wildcard`s thread.

Harris was really unlucky not to qualify from the poole meeting anyway and deserves his place
