Bee 26
Didn't see that one coming! From Bees website Thursday November 21, 2013 DANISH superstar Hans Andersen is to spearhead Coventrys challenge for top-flight honours in the 2014 season. Andersen, an established out-and-out No.1, joins the Buildbase Bees after spending two years with rivals Swindon, during which time he captained the Robins to the Elite League title in 2012. That was his second such success as he also led Peterborough to victory in remarkable circumstances back in 2006, whilst his individual list of achievements includes four Grand Prix wins and the Danish Championship in 2007 as well as two World Cup gold medals with his country. It is actually the third time Andersen has signed for the Bees, as he saw out the closing part of the 2008 campaign with the Brandon club and helped bring about a late-season upturn in form culminating in Craven Shield victory. The 33-year-old also started the 2011 season with Coventry, but he suffered a badly broken foot in a freak training accident after making just one official appearance. Bees promoter Mick Horton is delighted to secure the services of Andersen as he continues a dramatic team re-build following a tough 2013 campaign and he says the signing is a major statement of intent. Horton said: We went for a No.1 of the calibre of Hans because we want the best. We feel that Hans is indeed one of the best, hes proved that in the averages, and this will send out a message that we are really serious about this team. Hans wants to come, which is important to us, and we welcome him. They dont come much better than Hans Andersen. I want all our fans to know how serious we are about 2014. There are no excuses next season. This team is going to be the team to beat, and we arent interested in coming second. We want to win this league, and this signing just proves our intent. Along with the signings weve made already, we are going to be a very strong force in 2014. Edited November 21, 2013 by Bee
Steve0
Hans Andersen signs for the Bees I wish him well - he was a good captain at Swindon - not surprised to see him go to Coventry.

Brandon
Good move. In this league he's a top No.1 and captain. We've needed a rider who regularly goes out in heat 1 and wins, it sets a tone for the meeting. Also Harris rides better as second heat leader. Like the look of this team. Who will fit in on 5.31? Steve0
So no Nicholls this year then
A ORLOV
You have got a good number 1, would have liked him at back at Swindon.
ghostie
Seems King's not Brandon bound as only 5.31 left for the fifth rider. Who could be in the running with 5.31 left ?
philfromcov
i reckon josh auty myself
Brummie Boy
Perhaps Josh Auty might be heading back to the Bees. His average of 4.90 would fit and he is a Bees asset. I think the Brummies would struggle to include both Auty and Covatti for 2014 and as Nico is an asset he would probably get the place at No 5.. SCB
i reckon josh auty myselfHe'd never get a home meeting! More like to be Adam Roynon. A solid top 4 IMO.
double_O
Would rather have Gustaffson

EnglishRoundabout
Good signing for the Bees. Rather ironic though as quite a few Bees fans were saying he was 'past it' a few weeks back. Looks like a competitive team being assembled this year. Nicholls could be Ipswich bound? Surely they the Witches can't accommodate Barker this year.

Bee 26
Could Zengi be heading back to Swindon?
mdmc82
Gonna miss Zengi with the bees. Hope to see him back in the future. Really hoping Kozza is our final rider. Will be disappointed if Robson or Allen as Summers better rider
Brandon
It's been a couple of years since Adam rode in the national league and premier, think it was after he recovered from the neck break? What say he signs for the Storm, could he be eligible for a reserve spot?

houdi
I believe that leaves us with 13.65 points for the 2 last riders. King + Zengota = 13.61 Andersen + Gustaffson = 13.51 Sundstrom + Zengota = 13.37 They look the most likely possible choices. Or maybe throw Kennett as a possible instead of Zengota. Outside bet maybe Zagar and Summers. Out of the choice option 2 would be my preferred choice, however expect 1 or 3 as the more likely options. Nice to see Horton has been paying attention, if he can get Gustaffson as well that's a pretty decent top 5,with only 32 points to play with. Although until we see how other teams shape up it is difficult to make a judgement, plus of course the unknowns of each club's reserve strengths. However no real complaints so far, the team looks far more promising than last season's team.
