Steve0
I wouldn't take any notice of 'Mr Bitter of Swindon' Gem, he's hardly one to scoff when you read about the state his club was in, in 2013. At least we paid our riders! That is your second personal attack lady! If you read my post I actually said that Scott rode well in 2012 but don't let that get in the way of your rants! Popular Post philfromcov
Anyone would think you have an anti-Poole viewpoint, PhilfromCov!!!!? Tut tut. Lets not forget Poole have also 'signed' a couple of riders already!! The Promoters already know - in broad terms - what options are being proposed at the AGM and are on the agenda for further discussion. The final choices just need to be formally voted on and approved - by all clubs - once the Sky issue is clear(er)!! The state of all clubs finances is also then made known to each club at the AGM - which is why(?) the AGM doesn't take place until well into November - and all clubs can then see how far 'up s##t creek' they really are!! i would just like it put it on record that i am 1000% anti poole, lets not beat about the bush. That promotion has dragged the elite league through the mud over the last 5 years and i suspect are largely responsible for the decline, when out and out cheating is so obvious people turn away. I can say that since 2010 i have not watched a single second of any meeting to do with poole. i do not attend home meetings when they are around and i certainly do not watch them on sky.Poole are more concerned about sky than anyone else as they get the lions share of the money. I understand that the sky money is split 50/50 so each team get £50k and then a proportion of the pot depending if your on TV, Its more than likely as every TV event had a boring poole match that of the rumoured £1million per year from sky, poole will get between £250/£300K of that sum. As for sll voting for change, each winter Matt ford buys more "votes" sorry bricks for belle vue, the latest one being a cap on the pounds per points each club can pay, sounds sensible, until you realize that the ex world champion isnt actually paid by the club, but paid by a sponsor, so much for an even playing field again

philfromcov
your sky figures are well off the markok fine but it is reasonable to assume that Poole get between 25/30% of all the sky money. from that i take it you agree with all the other points! :

philfromcov
Always good to read a post with a correct amount of balance, rather than the 1000% anti-Poole post based on rumour, opinion etc!! thats as balanced as it gets and me being polite! Poole have a very fickle fan base the club is not as stromg as people think, the sub 800 that turned up to a home meeting against lakesdie is the true core, the rest are just pot hunters, ford knows this and does eveyting he can inside/outside the rules to keep things going
Dave Jones
Always good to read a post with a correct amount of balance, rather than the 1000% anti-Poole post based on rumour, opinion etc!! That's because 1000% of the dodgy decision making goes on behind closed doors, never officially reaches the public domain ,and anyone "that is in the know" dare not speak out for fear of being punished by the powers that be.So fans speak out about what they see for themselves. More transparency is the answer. Edited November 6, 2013 by Dave Jones

NO! HAS anyone bothered to work out (I haven't) how many home meetings each EL track had televised in 2013?
Humphrey Appleby
HAS anyone bothered to work out (I haven't) how many home meetings each EL track had televised in 2013? Grand Central
AS to your first point ... NO! HAS anyone bothered to work out (I haven't) how many home meetings each EL track had televised in 2013? Just looking at my hard drive where I have archived meetings this year. 27 meetings saved (including 3 PL) and SEVEN are from Wimborne Road. 4 others also feature Poole away. This is not an exhaustive list as I did miss a couple of meetings when I was out of the country

HAS anyone bothered to work out (I haven't) how many home meetings each EL track had televised in 2013? Peterborough were only on once from Alwalton. Not bad for the best track in the league.

PHILIPRISING
THERE was a spell this year when Sky switched to Wednesday night speedway and alternated between Birmingham, King's Lynn and Poole for obvious reasons. Spme tracks obviously find it moire difficult to switch their race-night to a Monday or Wednesday and say actively decline the opportunity Grand Central... does the seven Poole meetings include the play-offs? How many times did the other tracks feature?

Grand Central
THERE was a spell this year when Sky switched to Wednesday night speedway and alternated between Birmingham, King's Lynn and Poole for obvious reasons. Spme tracks obviously find it moire difficult to switch their race-night to a Monday or Wednesday and say actively decline the opportunity Grand Central... does the seven Poole meetings include the play-offs? How many times did the other tracks feature? Yes, the seven for Poole does include the Play Offs. Birmingham did almost as well with four home meetings before their two in the Play Offs as well. But all other clubs were just also rans with either just one or two home showings. I will qualify this by reiterating that I did miss a couple of meetings earlier in the year. PR, perhaps you could help us understand what the method of splitting the Sky Money has been ... in general terms, of course. I thought it was along the lines of ... Starting at £1M per annum with the first 20% going to TR. A certain amount was then put aside for staging club's 'compensation' (how much?). The rest of the bulk was split eleven ways with each EL club getting an equal share and the whole PL sharing the eleventh slice. Is this about right? PS I agree that this discussion should be carried on elsewhere. This is not fair on the Coventry folk who want to chat about their own stuff.
