david2905
wouldnt you if you sold some one some thing and they used it for sixe months and then said they didn't want it.All he said was he would not deal with Birmingham again even the Birmingham owner that did the deal was not happy about what happened So it's OK to disregard the rules that riders are free to talk to other clubs if your not going to use them, but totally unfair not to illegally reassess riders with no good reason whatsoever ? Get off your high horse, you can't blame others for pulling a fast one when your attemping one, stones and glass houses. Horton can't legally enforce it anyway, it's a restriction on someone's right to work then, I don't agree with what our promotion did for what it's worth, but why make statments to the effect you have no way of enforcing ?. The problem being of course, that Coventry wanted to use Ben Barker in 2013. So by your own reasoning Barker was not free to talk to Birmingham at all. Makes me wonder how he ever ended up riding for them at all last season!

Surely disregarding a decision like that deserves losing points. Imagine if Poole did that?
speedybee
Just hearing the news on Chris Simpson, DJ and Storm presenter this year at Brandon. I can confirm that the SCB Court's Findings were that his SCB Officials Licence will be suspended for 12 months, that sentence itself being suspended until the end of the 2014 Season, so he may remain as an SCB Licenced Official, subject to 'towing the line' next year and avoiding any further "misdemeanours". Slapped wrists for being outspoken then - but more importantly he is available and able to be re-employed at Brandon and / or Birmingham if those clubs so choose. Time for Yorkie to finally move over then?
mdmc82
Would def rather have Chris Simpson at Brandon. One of the main things people moan about when visiting Brandon is how poor Yorks presenting is. He holds the mike too close to his mouth, gets names & info wrong and does interviews at silly times. Simpson is popular with the fans and gives it more of a fun yet professional feel
Panthers89
He is without doubt the worst thing about Coventry Speedway, and going by this season just gone, that speaks volumes.
Heedthebaw
Disgusting. And hope that is thrown out as quickly as it is suggested. There is no reason whatsoever to even consider having Hansen`s GSA looked at or altered. Nothing sinister at all if you read the rule book, any rider who has not ridden in this country for three years can have his average reassessed. However it may go up or down. Better they find out now rather than sign more riders then discover the figures don't add up

Better they find out now rather than sign more riders then discover the figures don't add up but the inference is that Coventry have requested the reassessment - they wouldnt do that if they thought it would go up. Now if it had been stated that the reassessment was a standard requirement due to his abscence in line with the rules then fair enough but it wasnt. There has to be a constant - no 'requests' - its either a rule or it isnt is how it shpuld be.

Any promotor signing a rider who has not ridden in the UK for over three years would be extremely foolish not to get the said riders average confirmed, having said that, I think it would have been more sensible to have the figure confirmed before signing the rider

Woz01
Absolutely nothing wrong with reassessment if a rider hasnt ridden here for a few years. A riders ability could differ significantly during a period of time. As others have said the reassessment could go up or down and it happens in PL and NL
T.N.T.
So Bees have Harris and Hansen signed up for 2014 but Barker returning could be on the line unless he stays at Ipswich if they move up with Scott Nicholls and Leigh Lanham. Martin Smolinski could return to the club if they don't want to deal with Birmingham although Brummies seem pretty keen to keep the GP Star !! on board along with Josh Auty. Kenni Larsen could be in contention to return for the Bees as #1 while Aaron Summers may have to decide if he wants to ride in the EL or PL as riders doubling up positions may have restrictions on ability (average) and/or age. 1 - Kenni Larsen 2 - Aaron Summers 3 - Grzegorz Zengota 4 - Kenneth Hansen 5 - Chris Harris 6 - ? 7 - ?
Rider Replacement
As much as I like Kenni and feel he would be a good choice for Coventry, he isn't a number 1, and also I'm sure he wanted away from Coventry.
Woz01
Not sure we will see Summers for the Bees next year I would prefer Roynon, similar average and if he managed an injury free season he could be a 5.5-6 point rider
Bees_Man
Roynon is not a 5/6 point rider.

T.N.T.
Roynon is not a 5/6 point rider. He would be if he stays innjury free and doesn't have to face the likes of Lindgren, Bjerre, Iversen etc Would think Adam may well be doubling up again though and wouldn't be suprised if Dudley moved up and included him as one of their heat leaders. john birch
He managed that in 2012.I seem to remember he had two serious injuries followed by a further two in 2013, making a total of six serious injuries including two life threatening ones if my memory serves me correct. Cannot believe Horton would seriously consider re-signing Roynon unless league looks more like the Premier League is now. Sorry but it's time to move on.
