Gemini
Is Blayne back at the club? Looks like it and judging by the 'Tapes Up' programme Gary will be back next season as well.
speedybee
Havelock and the Coventry management will need to brace themselves for a reaction as I think I'm correct in saying that I've never known such an unpopular team manager at Brandon. At very least if he does return he will need a master tactician, a great psychological motivator and articulate spokesman alongside him, which Blayne is not on any of those counts, with due respect. The panel was agreed that the team spirit was sadly lacking when seen alongside the Storm, so it's all the more mystifying why he's been re- employed. Horton, when he eventually turned up for the Tapes Up programme, talked about 11 teams for the league, with two home and away fixtures against all others, numbering 40 league meetings. Other interesting gossip involved Roynon talking about the number of occasions that KK was spitting his dummy as soon as he turned up for many meetings, which "knocked the wind out of his sails".. mdmc82
They kept saying that Havvy doesnt understand the history between bees & Poole, didnt he ride for Poole so he must have some idea otherwise maybe somebody should tell him! Thought the comments about Kasprzak were interesting. Think when Horton is deciding who will be captain next year it needs to be somebody who is passionate about riding for the bees and also able to help havvy motivate. I can understand Horton/Blayne saying they would prefer strength in depth rather than an out & out number 1 as it didnt work this year but that was due to the lack of commitment by our number 1 and injuries for riders early in season. Personally still feel we need a strong number 1 (Nicholls & Harris dont work in that position) Iversen & Tai will stay at present clubs if back next year and Hans who would have been ideal but wont work with Havvy. Who does it realistically leave? Riders I wouldnt mind seeing in team plans would be; Zengi, Kozza, Hans, Bjerre, Tai, Roynon, Stead, Kildemand, Nicholls, Houggard, Bellego, Bech, Larsen The only riders im hoping are not announced are: BARKER, MORRIS, Robson, Lindgren, Kus, Kasprzak, Allen?, Kennett Edited October 29, 2013 by mdmc82
BADGER69
You just got the majority of the Bees fans on you side Mr Horton dont spoil it by keeping Havvy You supposed to be listening to fans the vast majority want Havvy out

Out of interest, what teams would fans like to see (first if 42.50 limit and then if 38pt) Edited October 29, 2013 by mdmc82
speedybee
I'd like to see Kildemand back at Coventry. He's potential No1 material, very exciting to watch and still improving. He'd be the ultimate signing for me.

Dornier
Mick seems to have changed his stance regarding a number one, It didn`t work this year because the number one was non existent, Its ok going with a team with strength in depth but what will happen when the big guns come calling in heats 1. 13 .15 , It was proven this year that without a good number one all is lost ! there will be nobody to combat the likes of Holder. Ward. Iversen .Bjerre. Zagar etc.. This is exactly where Birmingham came unstuck.. Regarding Havvy I don`t think the fans will be as forgiving with him next year he certainly knows how NOT to get the fans behind him, he`ll have to produce the goods early on otherwise the fans will drift away , don`t think they will put up with another dire season. It seems Mick has two teams lined up so I suspect these are mainly Coventry assets in which case I hope Kennett is not one of them........ Trees
Obviously Gary has a definite affinity with Poole Speedway/Matt Ford, he's having his Farewell down there so of course he wants to bully them up as much as he can and keep on the side of the fans who will attend his meeting!! I think he went overboard on twitter though ........ You need someone who really cares about Coventry, who lives in Coventry, there must be someone out there?? Lynn have Rob Lyon, who's been a Lynn speedway fan for years, he lives locally and cares for the club .......... philfromcov
they are talking about a 36 or 38 point limit, if thats the case a strong number one, will be no good, too top heavy i think, remember belle vue with jason crump, scored 21 points at brandon, the whole team got 37 if you can get 2 bug hitters like poole have over the years thats much different, but just one, equates to a 3-3 in the heats they are in. Jacques
What an idiot that Wayne Roberts is. He didn't invite Havelock because it was a " long way to come from Middllesborough" WTF! He was the the one person who SHOULD have been there!! Woz01
Birminghams problem in the play off final was that Smolinski ended up number one and their reserves never turned up. Id still say strength in depth is the way to go even more so if points limit is 38. What an idiot that Wayne Roberts is. He didn't invite Havelock because it was a " long way to come from Middllesborough" WTF! He was the the one person who SHOULD have been there!! I did find that strange, hopefully its too far to travel for league matches too.

He was the the one person who SHOULD have been there!! I agree. As team manager and the one who fans most want answers and reassurances from it was silly not to invite him. Then he could have decided himself if it was too far to come. Otherwise he could have spoke over the phone, after all they spoke to Hansen and he was alot further away than middlesborough lol!

Ha ha..He seems to be defending his actions on social media because he's a "wind up merchant". So what about the professionalism then, he's the team manager!! Deary me. No wonder we're in a mess if that's the attitude at the club too!! Anyway. It turned out a positive forum in the end. Definitely liking Hansen already I feel quite upbeat now, but then I did before last season, lol .. Popular Post houdi
Havelock and the Coventry management will need to brace themselves for a reaction as I think I'm correct in saying that I've never known such an unpopular team manager at Brandon. It's almost as though they have a death wish. Find out what the overwhelming wish of the fans is and then do the complete opposite. Last night they seemed to inhabit some parallel universe. At the start Adam admitted that the team spirit was terrible, and the presenter then asked the obvious question, well isn't that part of the team manager's job? Apparently not!!! Adam then bizarrely claimed that Havelock was a great encouragement to him, well last season Adam had 26 rides, 1 win and 19 last places for an average of 1.85. Hardly a ringing endorsement of his motivational skills. We were then told that Havelock great skill were in talking to riders re set-ups, and knowledge of different tracks. Well Lakeside 55, Wolves 55, Poole 56, Belle Vue 59, Swindon 59, Birmingham 61 and finally Peterborough 70, suggests we would have been better served with mystic Meg. The manager it seems bares absolutely no responsibility for last season's shambles. Finally we are lead to believe that Havelock was not really aware of the vicious spit between Coventry and Matt Ford. Where has he been living these past few years, in a cave. It is no wonder the sport staggers from crisis to crisis when so many promoters treat the paying public, their lifeblood, with such utter disdain. The brutal truth is now there is not many more fans left for them to lose.
