mdmc82
as Barker is 3rd in averages r/r is surely to way to go when he is missing ? Riders already have enough of their own rides with it being a double header
SCB
R/R in a double header is madness but the only EL riders eligible to guest are Worrall or Morris and Morris is riding for Somerset. Worrall at 3? No thanks. We have to use R/R and pray for no injuries. Wish we'd just gone with a junior at BV- get them to crash out of their first ride and use emergency R/R and give Howarth, Hansen and Jason (x2) the rides. magnificentseven
Well done to Coventry for taking a stand on the Jepsen Jensen situation. Its a shame more clubs don't do this. Just another reason why we should form a league without such foreigners who treat Britain with contempt. Wolfie

At least if MJJ had missed this due to GP we could have got stronger guest, like Rory or king Edited August 29, 2014 by mdmc82
LagutaRacingFan
Decision to get rid of MJJ still baffles me. Imagine the Bee's get hammered at Belle Vue and pick up nothing. Gain 6 points from their two home matches against the Eagles who are crap on the road. and Coventry would be on 47 points from 25 fixtures and into the play-offs. Coventry's league title hopes are over.

yellowandblack
After being ridiculously over-excited after the acquisition of MJJ by the Bees, and then watching every one of his 30-something races, I can't really summon up any feelings of disappointment. He was just 'OK'. Can't see why his loss would be the reason for any 'battering at Belle Vue' or hand the league to KL.. Worse things have happened.

FTM
I agree with that. The pressure is on Barker now big time. He needs to deliver. As far as I'm concerned, after what happened at the start of last season with the Brummies, I would not have been bothered if Ben never rode for Coventry again. However, what's done is done. I don't agree with the decision but it's happened. Should we get to the playoffs, Barker's performances will be under the spotlight big time. If he performs all will be forgiven. If he does not, then this decision made by the Bees promotion will give us all something to debate on here during the close season. Such is the nature of sport. Surely your post is a double edged sword in one way because you are bigging up MJJ for riding for Dackarna (which is a rearranged match rained off from Tuesday) obviously where there is more money involved yet slagging off Ben Barker for signing for B,Ham because he was offered more money .Most of the riders these days don,t seem to have a lot of loyalty to either promoters or fans a sad case bought on by more and more parts and complete rollin chassis air fares and hotels expenses fuei costs etc.etc.they didn,t have until about 10/15 years ago .Sadly we the fans suffer most Hopefully B/B will do the biz and back up Hans and Bomber and with J/G riding his socks off we will be ok
Robbobee
I think Bees would / could have signed Danny King if he had not been snapped up by Lakeside in the previous few days - so BB is not a bad shout given who else we could have signed ??? Looking for 3 points H v Leicester, 1 point A v Leicester, 3 points A v Belle Vue and 2 points H v Kings Lynn - as a minimum !! Go Bees
James Taplin
Doubt we will make the play offs now. Good move but no in the same league as MJJ. Think he did well while he rode for us.

Go Bees Things that might swing now in our favour: Looks like Doyle will miss tomorrow's meeting with injury. With Doyles current form this would weaken them Kings Lynn have signed Lambert to replace Rose but he will miss our meeting due to PL fixture for Workington which means their choice of guest will be lower. Poole no longer have Darcy Ward (although may still get a good guest) But Cooks form at the moment will make it harder tomorrow and Mon as he is flying (although hope ref keeps eye on his rolling starts) hopefully we will have strength at reserve to make up for it. That all said, there have been meetings where we have had a rider 20th on list instead of Garrity, we have used NL instead of heat leaders or R/R instead of Howarth against full strength top teams and we have still won so dont think we should fear anybody. I know what you mean but Hans hasn't rolled this year. Was only commenting on that couple of weeks ago out he doesn't seem to do it anymore. heathen chemistry
MJJ has shown little commitment to british speedway, and from what ive seen of him he hasnt really been on ace form , yes he is talented, but if he's not gonna try hard enough he's more a liability than an asset for coventry to win the league this year it would of taken MJJ to finally wake up and perform at his best , which didnt look like it was gonna happen barker on his best form can emulate the same point that mjj has been scoring things will depend on how good he performs hugely ....
