TheSmiler
Major oops by the management. Shocked beyond words.
Champion2010
Is Horton drinking same stuff Ward has been? Where has this crazy idea come from. Bees had MJJ who is a heat leader, GP rider and talented. So what does Horton do? Brings in a rider who is weaker than any their top 5, bad attitude and not popular with alot of fans. Why would he weaken the bees when on the brink of the play offs. Craziness. I had to reread it when it was posted. Sorry but think this swings the title away from Coventry as now only 2 head leaders. Would have been better to lose MJJ for one meeting than gain Barker for them all. Can almost hear Swindon & Kings Lynn fans laughing after first Wards news & then this mad change. UNBELIEVABLE
mdmc82
Major oops by the management. Shocked beyond words. Same here Adam, did not see this coming. Even if MJJ had been injured and you were forced in to a change, you wouldn't pick Barker. Howarth is a better rider than him. Barker gets booed by fans when he visits Coventry so why would Horton think we would be pleased by this. Swindon even look strong on paper now than us
G the Bee
Ever heard of the phrase 'Cutting off your nose to spite your face'? I actually have some sympathy for MJJ. The Swedish meeting is a playoff meeting and whilst it officially has no bearing on which club he should represent on Monday, the fact is he signed for Dackarna at the begining of the season but only signed for Bees mid season. Dackarna have injury problems and other absences. I'm not surprised he feels he should prioritise his Swedish fixture. So taking these factors into account, the lad was put in an impossible position. It is not ideal and Bees have every right to feel agrieved. However, Bees should have considered the bigger picture. What would you rather, be without MJJ for an away fixture at Belle Vue or have him replaced by Ben Barker for the whole of the play offs? A massive own goal by the Bees promotion in my opinion. stevebrum
Right call. It was only a matter of time before MJJ tried to take a tinkle on the Bees and the EL. At least Coventry have come out with heads held high getting rid of a rider who as usual picks and chooses his meetings. A lesson a certain promoter in Dorset should have followed 2 seasons ago. Barker is a much better EL rider than MJJ. Like i have said from the off, MJJ has no interest in the EL or Coventry. You have been used. You were warned.
Robbobee
At last - somebody makes a stand against foreign riders who put other teams before their British one ! Right call - welcome back BB - he's a much better ider than an absent or non committed MJJ ! Go Bees !
Gavan
You were all told when MJJ signed that he had zero commitment and was a huge risk and so it had been proved. Riders like him should receive a ban from being allowed back in at any point in the future
BritPete
MJJ, is a waste of space, overrated, unreliable foreigner. Good riddance. Isn't it strange that a certain "new" poster is always referring to him as though he's the saviour! Lol.
Woz01
Although I don't blame Mjj for wanting to ride in the Swedish play off the management had to make a stand here. Some posters who are moaning about guests for Thursdays are now advocating we go to Belle Vue with a PL 6 pointer in a heat leader position! Had we used a proper guest he would've been banned for 28 days anyway! I also think people need to read it again, MJJ resigned from British Speedway what are they supposed to do! Bee 26
At least Barker will turn up and give 100%, MJJ was never committed to the Bees. Happy with the replacement

Sienna Ryan
Fair play mate you speak a lot of sense unlike some (at least one)of your fellow Cov fans!! I'm finding the way you are singling out individual fans on here a little worrying. This group is meant to be to share our views and love for the sport, not personally attack people. Maybe we could all be a bit more mindful of each others feelings. I may be wrong but My understanding is that it was a case for MJJ of ride Mon instead of Swedish play offs or face a ban. Not sure in fairness that MJJ quit speedway, think more of nudged out. I really hope it pays off for the bees as been one of the best teams to watch. Lakeside have just done the same with Bech however, and has really not worked. Edited August 29, 2014 by Sienna Ryan

CB252
Have any of you actually watched the handful of meetings that Jensen turned up to? He was crap in half of them which is why his bargain average has actually dropped. Love the one where someone says Barker has a bad attitude. Jensen has the worst attitude you can get. A deceitful, cowardly, reprehensible character that has thankfully gone. Jensen is the prime example of someone that won't put the effort in to try and better himself. A trait typical with your modern day talented rider sadly.
philfromcov
isn't this all to do with Darcy Ward and poole, lets blame them! he is in the gp's now and would miss other important meetings, he hasnt done a great deal to be honest a 6.50 average in this weak league says it all. Maybe Zengota could have come back, but other than that not much choice. like i said its all a Poole plot!
FranktonBee
I'd rather lose the title (if it was ever a possibility) with a team of decent, committed riders, than win it with a no-show mercenary tosspot like Jensen.

Hardly individual fans as you have about 9 user names . The Baker signing means that Cov will now make the play offs for sure but overall gives them no chance of winning the title .

I think it's sad on this site that if somebody doesn't like another persons opinion then they are accused of being KKS Hardly individual fans as you have about 9 user names . LagutaRacingFan
What a horrendous decision, MJJ has been shafted by the Bee's and made to look like the villain. He was told by Mick, Ride on Monday or resign from the Bee's. Michael is a honorable man and he has given it his all for the Bee's in every single fixture, I hope the Bee's fans vent their anger. Michael would like to thank the Bee's fans for all their support during this short but memorable period in his life. This all boils down to one thing. Is Mick Horton's aim to win the Elite League or get into the play-offs and have a bumper pay day? Judging by this decision, It's the latter.
