Sir Jasper
According to many there were no problems with morale and team spirit last year, with even a rider coming to Havvy's defence. Howeer there a few quotes from Havelock which suggest the opposite to what we were told. Lets hope that Havelock has learned from last year in terms of team morale etc but lets also hope that he has learned when to switch riders in races etc as there were too many times last year when struggling riders were given too many rides at the expense of a reserve who might have picked up points... SCB
So Havelock expects Hans to achieve a 9.60 average - just about sums him up really.TBF he did that for Swindon until he started having problems (bans and suggestions of non-payment). With no Lindgren or Holder his average can go up a little more. Then add in that as manager it's his job to talk his riders up it's not an unfair statement. Plus don't forget it's Havvy, he's not exactly a clever guy.

Hans did do well, but looking at the suggested new ride line ups for 2014, it seems that the number 1 rider will have more rides against other number 1s and heat leaders this year so even though a couple of top riders are not riding it is likely to be more difficult for number 1 riders to keep or up their averages. Crazy robin
Will depend on how the refs let riders get away with rolling at the start as Hans is the worst I've seen closely followed by Craig Cook. Think he will be there all there about's though.

A ORLOV
tbf, Hans would have rode against he oppositions number 1 3 times last season so no different now. Including heat 15 most likely yes but apart from heat 13 a number 1 would meet the opposition heat leaders with a second string or reserve, now it seems that a number 1 will have more races with another heat leader on the same side than was ridden last year. So with more races with their own number 3 and 5 against the opposition 1,3 and 5 this may reduce the potential points scored. We will have to wait to get confirmation of the heat line ups. I agree it will be harder and I would expect most heatleaders to have a tougher time of things but a break down on Hans average by heat suggests he fared no worse in 13 and 15 than he did in other heats so it looks like who he is riding against makes very little difference. Same with Bjarne Pedersen. Must be a Danish thing.

Quoted from Gary's statement on the Bees website.......“Looking back over last season which I still enjoyed, I can say I’ve learned a lot about what’s needed. Hopefully this year I’ll be able to put right anything that I did wrong, and I’m really positive about the new season.” So let's hope as well as the things Sir Jasper has mentioned that he has also learned to keep his gob shut about anything to do with Poole because he is supposed to be Coventry's team manager. If he wants to praise them do it via a private message to Matt Ford rather than on Twitter because strangely enough we are not amused. speedybee
Announcer named as Gordon Camwell on the Bees site. Shame to lose Hammond if that is the case. Golden voiced announcer, if ever there was one, and I was pleased to see him back last year. Does that mean we still have to endure York for yet another season? Starman2006
God what an unmitigated disaster the brainless pirate loving twit is back. Why oh why would you do this to us. After building a decent looking team you go and trip over the last hurdle in devastating fashion. Charismatic Mr man managing motivator he most certainly is NOT....!!!!!! Truly Gutted Mick.... Twit is not the word I used Mr moderator. I think the word I used was a far better descrption....!!!!! And what did you get for Christmas?? Give the man a chance, this is only his second year in management. Im sure you could do a lot better though?? Not..
Steve0
For Christmas it appears I got a rubbishe manager. It really doesn't matter what I can or can't do, only what the pirate lover can do. I'm not being paid to manage Coventry HE IS...!! and what a balls up he made of it last year, Unprofessional, Tactically inept, No man management skills, Complete inability to forge team spirit and OMG thats before he even opens his mouth and speaks. Second year should be spent managing the plastic bikes and kids on the merry go round at the local Poole funfair. Don't hold back - let it all out

Starman2006
Tell you what, Get Fraud to dump Middlo, you take Havelock off us appoint him as your manager because Havelock seems to cream himself over the Pirates and tell me if you still stand by what you say now come next October Nah were ok thanks. Give the man a chance. But as i said, your riders have to play their part. They do at Poole..

This could actually work in Coventry's favour. I agree the riders need to do their stuff on the track and if that means them riding to their ability/average or above we will have a very good season. Agrotron
Oh dear..!! I thought you would be. So the extent of you backing Havelock does not go very far, its ok for other teams to have him but you dont want him because as I said in the first place HE'S rubbishE. Fickle as ever. Typical. Who would you appoint as team manager? You should be behind Gary not against he has only been doing the role for a year its a learning process for him give him a chance, why not email him and chat with him he is a very approachable guy.
houdi
That'll be Gary Havelock then Oh and Peter York... The weather... The track... Their misfortunes .... Mick Horton... Nothing really I can't remember any Bees fans complaining about the team building this year, within reason I imagine most Bees fans are reasonably content. Indeed most Bees fans I know are pretty happy with both the Bees and Storm's team this year. With regards to Peter York I imagine it is the considered view of fans everywhere that he is past his sell by date. A lot of his biggest critics often appear to be non Bees fans, and they have to only endure him at most a couple of times a year. With Havelock, yes there is almost total opposition to his continued involvement at Brandon, indeed I struggle to remember a more unpopular Bees 'asset' ever. The fact his only supporters on this forum are Poole fans, largely led by the priceless Starman, is about as damning evidence that you could get. Bottom of the league, and with retrograde signings like Jo Screen and O.Allen, it is not surprising fans were angered by last season's performance. No different to Swindon's fans reactions to their wooden spoon 3 years ago. Havelock has never done anything to integrate himself with Bees fans and seems to positively delight in pronouncing his love of Poole. Either he is beyond stupid, or he is so arrogant not to care what his support base thinks. Luckily though we haven't had to moan/discuss endlessly whether our riders will or will not be paid, or whether Morris will or will not ride for us,whether he is loyal/disloyal, whether he should be forced to ride, or forced to be sold etc etc. Edited January 13, 2014 by houdi

Is Phil Morris going to be in the pits with Bomber? Or is that arrangement just for GPs?
TesarRacing
....................had to chuckle at Gary's words "and we've got a team of mainly English-speaking guys". Will that help them understand Havvy? Is Phil Morris going to be in the pits with Bomber? Or is that arrangement just for GPs? I see what you did there!!!
