Jacques
It's almost as though they have a death wish. Find out what the overwhelming wish of the fans is and then do the complete opposite. Last night they seemed to inhabit some parallel universe. At the start Adam admitted that the team spirit was terrible, and the presenter then asked the obvious question, well isn't that part of the team manager's job? Apparently not!!! Adam then bizarrely claimed that Havelock was a great encouragement to him, well last season Adam had 26 rides, 1 win and 19 last places for an average of 1.85. Hardly a ringing endorsement of his motivational skills. We were then told that Havelock great skill were in talking to riders re set-ups, and knowledge of different tracks. Well Lakeside 55, Wolves 55, Poole 56, Belle Vue 59, Swindon 59, Birmingham 61 and finally Peterborough 70, suggests we would have been better served with mystic Meg. The manager it seems bares absolutely no responsibility for last season's shambles. Finally we are lead to believe that Havelock was not really aware of the vicious spit between Coventry and Matt Ford. Where has he been living these past few years, in a cave. It is no wonder the sport staggers from crisis to crisis when so many promoters treat the paying public, their lifeblood, with such utter disdain. The brutal truth is now there is not many more fans left for them to lose. Brilliant
Dave Jones
I had to smile when Horton was telling us all what a great club the bees are, " the number one club in the sport" and how lots of riders want to ride for us. I think he forgot to mention that was what he inherited , as it most certainly doesn't describe the club in its present state. It was also interesting to hear him say that he had two teams in his mind dependant on the TV situation. Would that be the cheap team, and the even cheaper one?
speedybee
Brilliant Yes, inspired writing, Houdi. I think I was still too shell-shocked by the bluff and bluster to have fully taken in the implications of what was being said. But this has been the story of the current Coventry management since day one, inconsistent thinking and logic, U-turns, contradictions, half truths, spin, fall outs, sackings, disputes with staff. There's really only one conclusion that can be reached and that's that they are largely inept and that any success will only come DESPITE the management agenda (if they indeed have one), not BECAUSE OF it. You either have what it takes or you don't and though last night's audience sounded as if they had been placated to some extent, you can't ignore the inconsistencies and bad decisions. As someone remarked on Twitter re the signings so far "two steps forward, one step back." For Horton himself to be saying that Havelock probably wasn't fully aware of the history with Poole was shocking. It was brought up not once but twice in the questions, so clearly the fans are very unhappy with what they have witnessed. If I was promoter of a club, first thing I'd make sure of was that my staff were fully briefly on all aspects of the club and its recent history. Certainly, next season is last chance saloon for the current régime. And the level of success we can expect (or not) should become apparent within a few weeks of the season starting. Woz01
Lets be honest if Horton sacked Havvy on a public forum it would have be deemed unprofessional. He couldnt say much more considering it was live. I still wouldnt be at all surprised if Havvy wasn't the manager next season.

Dornier
Its Havvys job to motivate the team and this is achieved in many forms which includes getting the fans behind the team , seeing as Havvy has a bigger interest in Poole Pirates he is immediately at a disadvantage from the start ! To say that Havvy is not aware of friction between Poole and Coventry is rubbish. I would have thought that if he had any interest in the Bees Havvy would have volunteered to face the fans and would not have needed inviting down, after all it was supposed to be a time for the fans to get answers. To ask Adam about Havvy was ridiculous, did they expect Adam to give Havvy a slating. Judging by Havvys tweets it seems that he is only interested in his own past achievments and Poole Pirates. ...Have a look for yourself see how many times he mentions Coventry Bees, Even though he is aware of the fans distaste for his tweets he continues to pump them out........ This headline suggests otherwise: http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/speedway/kenneth-hansen-coventry-bees-always-6251517 One concern I do have is everyone seems to be holding up Hansen as the rider who will turn round the Bees fortunes for 2014, but we are looking back at his scores from 2009 and I think the track is very different animal now, so can he replicate those scores. I also believe that is one of the reasons we are not seeing the Harris of old riding Brandon as we know he can. I wasn't at the Brandonapolis - did Hansen look competetive given the opposition? He scored 10 points beating several heat leaders along the way. I wasn't there but read that he made several passes during the night.
mdmc82
He scored 10 points beating several heat leaders along the way. I wasn't there but read that he made several passes during the night. Along with Harris he was the most exciting rider of the night. Was able to both gate and race. Riding style reminds me of Kildemand
JonHWeiner
I agree that Harris and Hansen were both excellent at the Brandonapolis. I am pleased that Mick has signed them both for 2014.
ghostie
Scott Nicholls comments tonight. He hopes he can still be at the bees next season. But the AGM will be tha main factor for that. He has no issues riding in the same team as bomber Harris. Hope hes with the bees on 2014

There was a time they didn't get on but I think that's passed them now. When I've seen them together they seem to at least be amicable. Rider Replacement
I am constantly amazed by what I read on here, some posts do make me chuckle. The main problem at Coventry is the club has experienced success throughout the years, they have had former promoters who lived and breathed Coventry Bees which is evident when you lòók at past success, the current promoter is trying all he can, but he doesn't live and breath Coventry Bees yet, but he has come a long way and I believe he wants success. Pirate Nick
I'd like to see Kildemand back at Coventry. He's potential No1 material, very exciting to watch and still improving. He'd be the ultimate signing for me. Send him a text
DIAMONDS
Just guessing that Kenneth Hansens average would be a five. I think that British riders who don't need paid for flights will be key for Coventry in 2014. Assuming the limit will still be 42.5. 1. Peter Karlsson 8.09 (Unsure) 2. Kenneth Hansen 5.00 3. Chris Harris 6.82 4. Oliver Allen 5.19 5. Scott Nicholls 7.19 6. Stuart Robson 4.63 7. Aaron Summers 4.

Bee 26
Can see Fisher coming back which wouldn't be a bad move Would Barker be a better option than Zengi? I think Barker would score more points throughout the season and would pick up more points away from home

Jacques
Please please if there is a god the last four of those will not be inflicted on us again. Come on I beg you Mick, Not Them AGAIN....!!!! Who would you like to see then, Had? Rather than scoffing all the time, perhaps you could enlighten us with your thoughts on the team for 2014. We've got Harris and Hansen, are you happy with that? Edited October 30, 2013 by Jacques
