Coventry Bees 2014

Sneer at Coventry? I'm pretty sure I didn't. You appeared to take the moral high ground (and continue to do so) that because Brummies have well documented money problems that a Brummies supporter shouldn't quip about Coventry's financial stability! And now because I pointed this out, you then raise something similar about Swindon! If anyone is sneering it's you I think.

Watch you don't get dizzy rolling your eyes

Point me to a post that shows me sneering at your situation and the Brummies before you and your mate came along?

I think you'll find that I've made no comments about either team or their situation. The post in question was a sad little dig, much like your retort to mine!

I won't break forum rules and post my thoughts about you.. Doesn't stop me thinking that you are an obnoxious tw@t though.. :t:

Not really sure why a Birmingham fan is making quips about Coventry's financial stability...

Not surprised you came along to sneer at Coventry. At least our riders aren't in the press telling everyone they've not been paid and didn't care they didn't sore points. Deary me!

There you go! What are posts 1 and 2 if not sneering? What relevance does the financial position of our clubs have to us making comments? As for your third post - not impressed that you blatantly flaunt forum rules but hey ho I won't!

What an excellent article. And certainly food for thought for some of the posters on here who continually trot out the "They put their lives on the line for our entertainment" nonsense.

Excellent quotes from Batchelor:

"Rosco was always saying to us ‘come on, we’ve got to win we’ve got to win’ but we just said ‘why, what for because we’re not getting anything out of it?’ “We would have had a better season if that hadn’t happened, for sure, and there were times where we couldn’t be bothered with it all."

or

“We turned up and did half a job, and the first time we lost at Belle Vue in the last race we didn’t care, nobody cared, and we just laughed and said ‘ oh well we’re not being paid anyway so who cares.’"

He does acknowledge that he felt sorry for the fans who were still paying their entrance monies to see the meetings but, lets face it, his concern for the fans was not enough to make him go out on the track and give 100%.

And I can't say I blame him either. Fair play to him for speaking out.

Just think if the rumured points limit of 38 comes out, this Coventry team, which is probably the worst ive every seen would have to drop over 2 points next season..... makes you think the quality we can expect 2014!

I still think that if everyone rode to their average for the Bees this year then you wouldn't have been too far off the play-offs but, for whatever reason, it didn't happen. I think the Bees will bounce back in 2014.

Huge risk for the Cov management with the team they assembled for 2013 in my opinion. Nicholls on the decline, Zengi returning from a serious injury and never a third heat leader (just yet) and Kasprczak unreliable and was never going to see the season out especially in an unsuccessful side. All this with the inconsistent Summers, and the unproven Saucepan brothers. Come on Steve0, if this was a Swindon side pre season there would have been an outrage!!

Can't believe I'm sticking up for Nicholls  but last season he raised his game and he was more than capable of maintaining this for this season. KK can beat anyone on his day (as his re-qualification for the SGP series shows) so I wouldn't have written him off. Zengi was the gamble but he turned in a great season to be their rider of the year! Summers was a bit hit and miss (more miss than hit) as was Roynon but the Sziepaniek brothers both showed what they were capable of the previous season so they should have been a strong reserve pairing. Ok it was lacking in inspiration but should have been capable of more than the wooden spoon - IMHO.

PS - I agree that there would have been outrage if it was announced as the Swindon team - but only because Nicholls was included

Must admit I didn't realise they were wooden spoonists. (hadn't checked the table) Anyone who signs Nicholls next year would be crazy to think he would be anymore than a number 3. Pleased for Zengi, sorry Cov fans he will be a Swindon rider next year!

On what grounds? Because he is a Swindon asset? The events of the close season of 2012 and 2013 show us that this means nothing. The rider will ride where he wants to ride.

And if Zengi doesn't want to return to Swindon, surely all he (or any rider who doesn't want to ride for his parent club) has to do is hold fire until March 1st. Then he can ride for whatever team he likes can't he?

Of course, Zengi may decide he'd rather ride for Swindon (the team that didn't want him this year and has had documented financial issues this season) than Coventry anyway. Who knows, with the points limit being what it is mooted to be, there may not be a place for him at either club!

Anyway, this could all be irrelevant as we don't know if Poole want Zengi to ride for them. If they do then no doubt he will be a Pirate in 2014 as no rider would surely want to ride for any other team!

With Brandon being Hansen fave track I hope Horton reads posts on twitter, here & facebook along with the response to Hansen from fans at the track and moves fast to sign him up

Reading his reply to me and others he really wants to be a Bee. We would be mad no to Include him in my opinion.

That was my thinking as well lol.

Really hope Horton takes the fans (and 2013 results) seriously and appoints a new manager along side Blayne.

If this had been football then Havvy would be long gone

I dont particularly blame Havvy for a poor season the side was basically picked before he was announced. Him and Blayne should take the blame for the many poor tactical decisions but the main reason for me wanting Havvy out is total disregard to Bees fans when he is on twitter. The guy is a fool and the argument with Hans and what he said proves he doesnt deserve the right to be a manager of our club.
