PHILIPRISING
Somebody had better tell the Americans. They are a bit sensitive about that sort of thing. I live in the US and most of them haven't a clue that there is a world beyond the Eastern Seaboard. Remember that the domestic baseball awards the "World Series" trophy. Nice people though. Regards. Alan. ISN'T it called the "World Series" because it was initially sponsored by the World newspaper? Agree with you though about how insular Americans are generally. Even their "World" news rarely includes anything happening outside the States and then only if there are Americans involved. All the more reason why we should applaud those who have crossed the pond to race in the UK and Europe and added so much to speedway over the past few decades.
stevebrum
Heard that Howarth is not going to ride for Poole(to far to travel every week) so could Belle vue go all English. It seems to be a major part of their team building plans so far. King 7 46 You can scrub King, he is back at Brum.
T.N.T.
The stumbling block with Gino is he wants PL. think Ipswich and Edinburgh are in for him as well but prob be a belle Vue asset Birks has been spoken to but he won't want just EL unless we pay him well I suppose You can no longer sign a foreign rider and loan them out straight away. If he is not used he is a free agent still and Gino will be Premier League so can't even double up.
RedcarRacer
Wonder if Redcar might fancy another American, could see us having an interestin him. Chris Kerr was such a success and our track could suit.

Alan_Jones
with America being in the commenwealth then im assuming he will come in on a 3 I think you'll find that the Declaration of Independence in 1776 forestalled the USA's future membership of the Commonwealth. The rule is actually for Commonwealth riders and an annual maximum of 4 from the USA.

T.N.T.
If Aces are thinking of bringing Matej Zagar back then they would only have 3.18 left for the last rider. Would they be hoping Ashley Birks 3.06 is going to be fit or is there a plan to use a PL rider (upto 5.30) to double up ? With Patrik Hougaard as an asset and (possibly) Ricky Wells always good around Kirky Lane then that would be a more solid line up

With the top boys facing each other a lot then Zagar and a 3 pointerbisbthe way I would have gone to. Need a big hitter. As for birks. We need a rider to do full time EL. birks won't do that. He wants PL to. Personally I want manzares but think we will get one of sowka or sitera. Not to bothered who the 5th rider is because they will struggle whoever the rider is
jimmy jimmy
As we have early pick for the reserves, we should be strong there, so a 6 man team could do ok as long as Zagar keeps his form.
fliss44
It's a shame we didn't get the ex-colts from the draft but nobody really knows how this will pan out over the season. I think the Coventry fans will like Garrity, he reminds me of a younger version of Barker but with more ability and less brains. LESS BRAINS? Have I read this correctly? Did you mean ego?

Phil The Ace
Never in doubt. Zagar signs Its Christmas come early for Belle Vue fans as World No.7 Matej Zagar confirms he is to return to Manchester for his second consecutive season. The stylish Slovenian, who wowed the crowds with his effortless mastery of the Kirkmanshulme Lane circuit, will spearhead the new-look Rentruck Aces in what is shaping up to be a promising year for the club. 30 year-old Zagar first rode in Britain with the Trelawney Tigers in 2003, and followed up with spells at Reading, Swindon and Eastbourne before quitting the UK scene at the end of 2010. The two-time European Champion continued to be a dominant force across mainland Europe and in his native Slovenia, where he consecutively claimed eleven national championship titles between 2002 - 2012. And after a two-year absence, he made a triumphant return to the British Elite League as the Rentruck Aces new No.1 and, after successful qualification in the 2012 Croatian GP Challenge, resident Grand Prix rider. Despite a sluggish start in New Zealand, Zagar went on to claim three SGP silvers and rack up a total of 110 GP points to finish 7th in the world ahead of young Aussie sensation Darcy Ward. And whilst he admits he was cautious about his return to Britain last year, it wasnt long before the Ljubljana-born ace declared the Belle Vue circuit as one of his favourites. He said: My plans for this year always involved a return to Belle Vue; I knew if I was going to be in England again its exactly where I wanted to be. Looking back on last season, riding for the Aces helped me in so many ways. It was a good move at the right time and I had a great year with the club so I saw no reason not to continue with them. I met, and worked with, some great people and the fans were wonderful. Ill admit the track never used to be one of my favourites, but once you master it its fabulous to ride! He added: Ive been keeping up with our signings so far, and it will be a very different team on the track compared to last year. We have a long season ahead of us though but hopefully we can achieve some big results. Zagar is joined by skipper Craig Cook, British duo Richie Worrall and Scott Nicholls, and reserve duo Stefan Nielsen and Ben Reade, leaving the Rentruck Aces with only one spot to fill to complete their 2014 line-up.
