Aces 2014

I thought the reduction had been removed? That means Howarth will also get 2.5% reduction.

I thought it had now been phased out too.

That's the problem when we only get snippets of info from the AGM.

But even if Worrall gets a reduction, signing Zagar would only leave 3.13 which would seemingly need a double-upper for the last signing. With Cook and Worrall doubling-up, are you still allowed a 3rd double-upper, or is it being reduced to 2 in the new secret rules?

No there's only 2 double uppers. Only rider I can see is Gino manzares

I thought the 2.5% discount for Brits had been ruled illegal!!

Well done to Scotty though, I'm pleased for him - hope he's not at Number 1!!!!

(ps. is it true that BV are going for an all-Brit 1-7??)

All Brits at the mo but we shall see. Scotty won't be number one. Cook is above him in averages. If Zagar signs Scott will be number 3

The 2.5% rule was abolished for riders with over 3 years experience of being an professional speedway rider. So if your in your first 3 years from signing your first contract you will have your average deducted.

Oh for Jack Parker, Eric Langton, Wally Lloyd, Bill Pitcher, Wally Hull, Jim Boyd, Louis Lawson, Dent Oliver, Bob Harrison, Ralph Horne etc! Season on season - no problems with averages. And something else - they used to have spectators on the Hyde Road terraces!

Don't see how this applies to Worrall in 2014 - he first rode in PL in 2011 (and before that in NL), so he's already had at least 3 seasons!!

National league don't count. Only from start of your PL or EL. THIS IS HIS 3rd year since his first year in the PL

Having just looked back last year was worralls 3rd year so mayb he won't get a deduction. My bad. Sorry

In the rules for last year it stated:

A Rider who has participated in the National Development League will receive a 2.5% reduction on their MA once he has achieved an established EL / PL MA, for the next 3 Seasons taking regard of any season where the Rider did not appear in a PL / EL Team Declaration.

So as you said he acheived an established pl MA in 2011 so the next 3 season (2012,2013,2014) he will get the reduction. (If this rule is still in place this year, which it should be really since they are trying to bring on the brits this year can't see that rule being scrapped.)

This has already been proven to be false I'm afraid Greg. Please see previous page. Craig disputed the article in his Twitter feed and seemingly, as of right now, he may have deals in place but he hasn't actually signed for Edinburgh or Belle Vue. There is still a worry that the deal is with another team....

With Scott in the team, he will want to continue his wooden spoon record -currently standing at 3 wooden spoons in 4 years for 3 different clubs

So he must be going for 4 wooden spoons in 5 years for 4 different clubs - now that must be a record

Don't think you will find Scott not giving anything but 100% for Belle Vue and a good team man who can help the likes of Cook and Worrall. They have done well to get him as other clubs had been talking to him and it did look like Birmingham would win the race to sign him.

If they can keep Zagar or at least get another number one then Aces will have a decent team but much depends on the riders selected at reserve

I wonder if Jason Garrity is on the short list for reserve.

Must say, this signing does surprise me as I expected Scotty to remain nearer his southern base, non the less welcome to Kirky Lane Scotty, a track you have shown a good liking to in the past.
