Dudley Rider Announcement?

Lets hope that the next announcement is about a new track & a move to a higher league.

And where could that be? Having your own track needs "a lot of financial backing" - a bit different to renting a place POSSIBLY?

Makes you wonder where the club is now heading if they can offer a 16year old lad a career in the sport with the Heathens!

If i was his father or parents I would have asked where the club was going and if they do have a future in the sport, maybe a new track or heading into a high league in future years to stem young Max's development!

do you honestly think his parents won't have thought of that one.....

Or maybe just just asked, "How much cash will we get?". Which frankly, would be all Id care about. The sport doesn't know what it doing one season to the next for any club to plan for a future.

Obviously they are more optimistic than us about speedway's long-term future in the Dudley Heathens camp.

Good rider for the future.Think most teams would have wanted him this season on his starting average as he was always going to improve. If he is in the starting line-up for next season for Dudley,i would imagine he will be 2nd heat leader on his current average.Big jump from where he is now imho.Needs to continue to progress to make that step up.

Dudley have really bucked the trend that the majority of the rest of the tracks have suffered.

Since we returned to the sport our crowds have been good and the level of support has remained consistent. Two reasons for this. Firstly, 15 years without a team certainly focuses the mind when you finally get one back and the fans have turned out in great numbers. I never doubted that this would happen as very few Heathens fans migrated to support other teams after we closed in 1996. Secondly, there is virtually nothing else to watch in Dudley. It is the largest population centre without a professional sports team.

When the promoters find a suitable site they know that the support will be there to make the club profitable and there will be some committed souls prepared to chip in with either time or money to get back what we have waited so long for.

Fingers crossed.

Great that max could be part of the great climb back up the ladder for one of the greatest Clubs the sport has ever had.
