Main Man
MIDLAND DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE With rained off meetings playing havoc with the run in to decide which two teams will contest the 2013 MDL play-offs everything was finalised on cut-off day at Kings Lynn on Wednesday night. With Belle Vue Colts confirmed as one of the two teams through it was nail biting finish at the Norfolk Arena as two MDL matches were staged with the outcome coming down to the final race. Milton Keynes Knights were anxiously watching the updates from the two clashes as they knew that if Kings Lynn Lightning were to pip them to the spot they had to win both encounters against Coventry and Stoke. As it was Kings Lynn edged closer to the final seeing off Coventry and then when it looked as if they had secured the play-off place fate dealt a cruel blow as Adam Kirby had both chains break as he led the final race and this handed Stoke the draw and ended Kings Lynn’s bid for glory. So the 2013 grand final will be a repeat of last year with Belle Vue Colts taking on Milton Keynes Knights with dates yet to be finalised.
