Sensible answers, and who knows? If we present it to the Promotors before the AGM, we should at least expect an answer on why it cannot be changed if its not changed. Please keep the change concise and sensible and I will collate the answers and get the most wanted change to the right person/s before the AGM.

Closing Date of October 31st 2013

So, rule change, from what and what to please, a little explanation of why as well please?

Cheers;

Never Too Old....

None. Changing rules will make bugger all difference.

The sport needs to sort out its image, it needs to realise it's now 2013 and we're about to get a pretty cool, young World Champion - who is British.

Out with hits of the 80s and cheap tat in the track shops. Out with presenters in their 50s and 60s. Get meetings over in 90ish minutes.

Have whatever rules they like but most importantly make site they're stuck to.

Why a few months into the season do we have some teams on 10 meetings and others on 20? It should be 1 home and 1 away meeting a week +/-1 to allow for northern/southern tours.

The sport needs dragging into 2013/2014 kicking and screaming.

So meetings ridden continuity is high on your agenda? I agree, a team can be top having ridden 7/8 matches and yet the team propping up the league may have ridden 1 if lucky?

Its not a huge thing but why should the best team in the league be 4th or 5th due to meetings (not) run? That clubs promoter should be allowed to promote his club as league leaders without the smoke and mirrors stuff. Ordinary people should be able to look at the league table and see who is best. 90% of people don't care about guests or r/r and even less care about who can/can't guest and why/why not.

People don't want rules, they don't go as it's £15-17 to stand on crumbling terracing (or a grassy/muddy mound), use toilets that have floors covered in urine after being charge £1 to park in a field full of animal excrement (and their being little or no alternative) to have to spend the night listening to smashy and nicey on the PA.

How long ago is it that you went to a meeting SCB - and where?

Swindon in July this year.

We did warn all comers, as to the perils of the back straight "toilets". However, I can't remember piles of animal excrement in the car park, only frustrated drivers trying to exit without any help from stewards.

To get back on topic, the rule I would like to get rid of is being able to reinsert riders (off 15 metres) who have been excluded (or whatever today's term is) for touching the tapes or exceeding the two minute time allowance. What is the benefit in that(?) and all it does is extend the meeting (SCB's earlier point)as managers scratch their heads and consult as another 2 mins is allowed. If you are 'out' you should be 'out'and the reserve should take your place.

Whether or not modern music will bring people into speedway (although, once I see the bikes lining up at the tapes for the next heat I've forgotten what was being played anyway) I'll get into the spirit of the thread. When a rider is put out of a match in an incident for which an opponent is exqualified/discluded/whatever the current term is, his rides (including any re-run of the original incident) can be covered by rider replacement. It is so unfair if a team's #1 (for example) is skittled out of a match by an opponent to only allow reserves to cover his rides.

Give the Tapes marshall more power in order to make the riders start in the correct positions, example worn riders with yellow cards as in football and if the rider is still messing about sigle to the ref to exlude the rider.Every one likes a little bit of conflict and tension,so give the tapes marshall a head set with a microphone as well!!The TAPES MARSHALL is such an inportant position i have never understood why there is not a pool of PAID TAPES MARSHALLS INSTEAD OF VOLUNTARY ONES

They could call the rider a supplementry reserve.

Whoops showing my age

Seem to remember Len Silver pushed for this a few years ago but it never got through the fuddieduddies meeting
